I thought it would be interesting to see what other things you guys are into. We have a good community here of people that I would consider friends...
We are certainly scattered all over the world, with various backgrounds, and experiences.
This sparked the though what hobbies are you interested in?

Allot of my hobbies involve building/making/modifying things, but this thread does not have to be about that.

I will start.... for me it is anything that goes fast. I feel in love with cars around the age of 4. As soon as I could I got a job and started saving for my first car, which was a 1991 MR2 Turbo. My history with cars is pretty vast around 26 vehicles so far, so I wont bore you with all of them. Some highlights are an 1987 Buick t-Type (like the Grand National). I had 3 different Nissan 240sx when I was into drifting about 10-15 years ago. More recently I got into track day driving (HPDE High Performance Driving Event). I built a 2001 MR2 Spyder (called the MR-S in other countries), which I swapped in a Honda K20 motor and 6-speed with LSD. Imagine 2100 lbs mid-engine rear wheel drive and 200whp with a 9,500 rpm redline. It was a hoot!

Now days I drive a 4Runner SUV because it is comfortable, safe, and fits my family! I have my eyes on a few cars like the GTR, and new Mid-engine Corvette.

(95 Nissan 240sx with 97' front end. The year was approximately 2003-2004)

Other than cars I dabbled in ATVs almost my whole life. Had a Yamaha YZ125 dirt bike, and 2 very fast Yamaha Banshees. The first banshee I put in a GSXR 600 motor and the second had a 750cc GSXR motor. (142 hp)
Video walk around of the 750cc here.

I really enjoy making things myself and fabrication in general. On this project I made a Stainless gas tank, fiberglass plenum, an aluminum intake pipe, and under tail exhaust, plus the tube frame chassis all in the garage ;)

At one point I also had a Suzuki SV-1000 S, which was lots of fun. After getting hit 2x by teen drivers I sold the bike (wont get back on 2 wheels unless its off-road.

I dabble on occasion with wood working. I have few projects to show for it, but at one point I wanted to make a speaker where you could see everything inside. This was birch I believe with a 7" driver in the base, bamboo cone mid range and silk dome tweeter. Front face is Lexan and everything fit together with groves cut via a router. My wife has plans for me to make a dinner table and some other things...
In general I really like a nice audio system for watching movies. Watching movies is another "hobby of mine". SiFi movies like the recent Avengers series are my movie type of choice.

Other than that it is RC cars, fishing, soccer, and basketball with the kids.
What about you? What are you into?

RC and TV. That's all I got for "hobbies".

I seem to enjoy hoarding movies... I buy them and put them on my media server. Will need to rethink the 10TB drive in a couple years... seems like I'm upgrading space every 3 years or so. Pretty sure I could setup an external raid or something, but as it is, I mirror the internal to an external drive so I have a constant backup. The external is on my main computer where I rip/convert, then I transfer them using scripts and whatnot which also adds them to my library and playlists while copying to the backup drive. If I ever go 4k... will definitely have to rethink things. Think I'm around 650 (~520 are bluray) movies now and 2000+ episodes of various tv shows... a 20TB raid will be a grand or so... ugh.

It all started 5 or 6 years ago when we were trying to rewatch a bluray, Tombstone I think, and it wouldn't play because of minute scratches in the disk from putting it in and taking it out of the binder and I had to buy it again. Now I rip them and put them in a flat container under our bed.

Being able to watch any of them from the Roku/blu-ray player/ps3 in the living room, blu-ray player in the bedroom or any of our PC's locally is nice. Started using blu-ray players only, then got a roku. It's so much faster at loading menus and whatnot. Can't recall the last time we turned on the bluray or ps3 in the living room... lol!

Not sure if that's a hobby or not... more of a compulsion at this point.

Not sure if you all saw my tag video, but on top of cycling, playing and coaching soccer and hockey, and just being a general tinkerer/mechanic around the house, my other really, really expensive hobby is diecast car collecting. The set is almost all 1969 model year cars and bikes. Many are toy grade but there are at least 3 that are not on display because their value is well into four digits now. There are also boxes in storage with 1000's of small scale cars that I collected for my kids to have one day. I prefer never to grow up if that's okay.

Very cool swaps. I really want to build an LS powered car my next go around... Can't go wrong with big displacement. My frustration with the 4 cylinder cars was the lack of torque.

I’m lucky enough to have one of my passions as my job! I own and run a sportfishing charter so basically chase the dream fish for clients and myself. Just had my new boat nominated for nz “boat over 8mt” boat of the year but was beaten by the first ever overseas entrant Grady White. Writing this post has actually helped me realise I’m still passionate about it which I thought I’d lost thanks to my bike accident.
Cheers Arrma fam you got no idea what this has just resparked!

The older the car or truck the better.. anything newer and you have to retain the factory bcm.. it's just becomes a crazy wiring game.. in that truck I used the fast self learn engine management.. you still need to have the tune very close for it to compensate correctly.. but I had to retain the bcm to maintain all dash function and such..those trucks the bcm and ECM are one unit, I can honestly tell you I have a solid week of wiring into that thing to make it look factory.. so again the older the vehicle the better..

Just check out all the wire I had to pull from the harness... insanity all day for days and days!

No way I'd have the patience to do all that electrical work.
Wondering about your username. Camaro makes sense but 383 is a Mopar motor?

That would be a great assumption, nothing like an old 69 roadrunner with a 383 and 4 speed...

But no, yes I have a 82 camaro, small block 350 stroked 3.750 and bored 0.030 brings it to 383ci, hence the 383 stroker it was dubbed.. now everyone strokes the old 400's for a 427 small block.. 434's as well

I see now! Here's my old man in his 70 Roadrunner 383, 4speed, air grabber, ground up resto. He sold it around 1998 I think. I was too bad and dangerous so he only let me drive it but only when he was riding nav. My younger brother got to take it to highschool though. It worked and he picked up lots of trim because of the hotrod.
I remember asking him to race when we were next to a 5.0 Mustang because I thought they were fast. He said, "They are fast, son. But they're also not a threat." And so he wouldn't ever race it on the street when I was present.

RC's are my main hobby, if you will, but my main interests are, in order;

1) Family, five kids, five grandkids, plus we take care of my MIL.
2) My SMB IT / Security business
3) Football (American style you twits, not soccer) Da Bears, Go Blue
4) RC / Drone
5) Figuring out this videography and post sh!t a little at a time
6) I like to cook, mostly grilled or smoked meats, but I am pretty good at most styles of cooking
7) Kayaking / Hiking / Any other reason to be outdoors
8) Remodeling our condo with hopes of breaking even some day ?‍♂️

Family, very active in my church, Riding Mt bikes, I spend more time with my dog Buddy than any other being on the planet, fishing, guns, keeping my house from falling down, vintage Audio gear (fixing classic speakers).
