What did you work on today?

Spent the day with my oldest daughter doing a little crawler maintenance, and installed her new wheels and hyraxes. 🔥

I like the paint on hers! How'd she or you do the black?
She did it. She’s really creative, I have no idea lol. Everywhere we go to crawl, she gets compliments on that body. Then she goes and flogs it within an inch of its life lol. She’s not shy about running that thing.

Finished the night working on Big Chungus. Bought me a fan shroud a bit ago, and finally got around to putting it on. New WFO knuckles and hubs should be in tomorrow, and I’ll get this one buttoned up. Probably shorten those motor leads while I’m in there. This truck and I have a love / hate relationship.

That is a nice fan shroud! But.. I thought you were going to take it easy with the replacement X-maxx?

Are you using the back end of a jeep xj as a work bench? 😁
Looks like fun and I agree- you never know what you might be able to use off old stuff. I definitely have a box of broken or worn stuff for those jic (just in case) times.
Yup, I have thrown away stuff, only to find out a couple of months later that I could have used that stuff on something else 🤦. Nah, that's my 2003 chevy trailblazer with 195k miles. It's my commuter and RC transporter/work bench. The Kaiju motor burned out during the testing. I already knew it was going to fail (it felt weird while being turned). I just wanted to give it a propper last hurrah. I do have the original motor for the Typhon 6s laying around for about two years. It's going right back in there!

Sometimes you get lucky, others not so much 😅
Could of swore that was a jeep hatch latch. I'm losing my touch 🤣

I’ve really been wanting a servo wire crimp tool lately, to shorten all my servo wires. It just looks so much better when things are tidy and custom. 👌😎
This is the one that I use. Got it off of A-main. Love this thing.

Next project ticked off the list. First upgrade for the Mojave.

Why not shorten the wires on the servo end and re-solder? Seems easier then messing with crimping those little ends on 😅

What if you need the servo for a different car later 👀. I don't mind hiding the extra cable in the receiver box :)

I mean shortening them is shortening them. He was saying to re-do the connector side but I'm wondering why not do it on the servo side so you don't need crimper etc. Thats how I've done it anyway.

Not just servos, esc wires, lights ect.. 😉

Plus I HATE soldering! So if I can change the end’s instead, I will. 🤣
