3s and 6s batteries: so far these batteries have been pretty decent. Arrrow rc, Turnigy and onyx

I noticed when running the Typhon the motor temp was 145 F. It is under the 175, but I like to keep my motor cool as possible. On most of my ARRMA’s I put a heatsink and fan on the motor.

For great batteries that won't break the bank, go SMC or Turnigy Graphine.

Best upgrade - a strong charger than can do 2c on your biggest battery.

2nd best upgrade - tires.

I'll add these (of course all are dependent on your driving habits and conditions.)

edit: forgot the first one I'd recommend!
#1 Unless you have tiny fingers & thumbs, replace the body clips with some 1:8 scale bent body clips.
Because the rear 2 are a PITA with the stock flat body pins. Now the body goes on and off lickety-split, with no extra swearing!

-Turnigy "Basher" 6S 4000mAh and Powerhobby has good lipos, too.
-Outcast tall chassis sides
-Outcast battery tray
-15T or 16T Hardened steel pinion (Robinson Racing is one good brand.)
-Hot Racing motor mount (AON38M01)
-Hot Racing spur gear cover & center diff mount
-Hot Racing front and rear hub carriers
-If you plan on big jumps, consider the H.R. alum wing mount. Haven't broken mine since that mod.
-Upgrade the radio & receiver, eventually
-If you have a v1 or v2 Typhon, consider a 4mm shock upgrade (i.e. Tekno buggy shocks)
-Make or buy some rear mudguards
-Get front and rear bumpers (TBR, GPM, etc.)
-Depending on location, get extra motor fan(s) I never needed that mod, yet!

Have fun with your new hellbeast!
