What servo should I get for a trx Maxx

The Zoskay amazon has a video showing only 20kg at 6v, so I’m going to keep looking. Thank you for inputs, I’m open to any other suggestions!

I've had my Outcast 6s since 2017 and literally every servo I've had in it has been better than the stock one and that is what 99% of the people on here care about. Most of the guys on here just run in a straight line up to their jump and don't really do much turning until they need to turn the car around. It would be one thing if we were all racing to recommend that people get a good servo but the vast majority of the people on here would never notice much if any difference anyway. Just my 2 cents.
Heh, this is a good reminder, thanks. This is why I want to try my stock servo first, before making any changes.

I'm not racing or anything, it just needs to be good enough for having fun. Maybe stock will be fine for that. And if I decide to make a change, maybe anything decent will still be a big improvement.

What are your thoughts on the JX Ecoboost 36kg? For $34 on Amazon it seems good.
Kevin Talbot uses those servos in a lot of his bashers and seems to like them. From what I remember the last one he bought didn't last long though.

Xmaxx/Maxx are hard on servos because of the way the steering is setup, even more so with a wide kit... if you're going with a budget servo, better get it from Amazon or somewhere else you can warranty it easily, because I promise, you'll need to... at least with a Maxx, changing the servo is pretty easy, an Xmaxx is a p.i.t.a. though, that's why mine now has a Promodeler

Last question. 270 or 180 degree control angle? I’m ordering tonight. They’re the same price. I’m thinking 180 but wanna be sure

No need for the 270, just go with the 180. with the 270 you better make sure your end points are set or it won't last long.

First, they shipped the 20kg servo. I checked, and I ordered the correct one. It even came in the 35kg package. I then reordered it, and returned the wrong one. The correct one is here. It works! Installing now.

Works good! I don’t have a YouTube channel for a vid, but it hits full lock on dry pavement without moving! Seems quite sturdy. Not too special, not that fast, but it is well worth the cost. Let’s hope it lasts!

The stock servo is proprietary to the X-Maxx and Maxx.
You can get the 2085x, which is a drop-in replacement for the Maxx and X-Maxx.

Or you can get an adapter and run a standard size servo, which is what I would recommend.
Traxxas does a plastic one, TRX7749, and you can get an aluminum one from GPM, Vitavon etc.

Pair that with a proper servo like the AGF A73BHLW and your golden.

Some people on here really like the Amazon special servos but in my experience they are absolute garbage and not worth the money.
Slow, weak and cheap gears…just spend a little more and get a real servo.

I'm tired of breaking the plastic mounting ears off the Traxxas poorly designed servos in my Maxx and am going to try that red servo from AGF-RC.com with Vitavon aluminum clamping type steering servo mount!

Can’t go wrong with AGF or Vitavon 👍

Another option to consider would be the HSpeed HSX501 or Unity RC 9910w which are both direct replacements for the stock servo, same mounting ears on the case.
