Kraton What voltage should my Lipo Batteries be after my R/C vehicle stops running?

I just ran my Mojave 6S for the first time using two: 5200 mAh 7.4 volt 2S 50C Zeee batteries. Fully charged, I measured them to be over 8 volts. I ran the car conservatively on pavement to break in the motor and then kicked up some dust on a baseball infield for a total run time of about 20 min. then then the Mojave stopped.

Both batteries now read 7.0 volts. Is this the std. reading for dead Lipo batteries?

Is 20 min. about the std. run time for these batteries in this type of vehicle?

I want to upgrade to 6S eventually. What is a good brand or type of 6s Lipo batteries for the ARRMA Mojave?

First off, welcome. Secondly when discussing battery voltages, we like to speak in terms of volts per cell. So on a 2S lipo, at 7v total, we can assume it’s 3.5v per cell, but it also could be 4.0v / 3.0v. Whole different world there.

Suggest to get a cheap lipo checker.

3.5V per cell is ok and 20 min sounds right as well. I'd stop a minute earlier and try to be at 3.6V but that never works out for me either without an alarm.
I have all of the below, you want more than one because you can never find one when you need it :rolleyes:
The cheap ones (5 pack) can be used as an alarm as well.

3.3 lvc is low for my liking, use a alarm or carry one of these in your pocket. I stop and check the pack after awhile

Thanks for the info. I just got in the mail 5 of those little voltage checkers. Forgot to use them. duh.

I'm new to all this Lipo stuff. So if if the battery quits performing at 7 volts, why would you want to quit a minute early so as not to get down to 7 volts. Is it hard on the battery?

If you drain a lipo too low it can get really hot and catch on fire. The safe range is 3.2 to 4.2 volts per cell. You want to store them at 3.8.
 
The lower you discharge the more you stress and reduce lifespan. Safe is probably to 3.2V, lowest stress is at 3.5-3.7V.
You will literally take month out of a lipo life by doing 'just 1 more minute'. If you swap Lipos every season you won't notice but if you like your money the Lipo's can easily last a couple years or longer.

Make sure you always balance chanrge and always leave them at storage level when not in use or charge back to storage soon after your day ends.
