The first thing that you should know is that any c rate above 50c is made up. With current technology the highest possible C rating is 50c, and that is best case scenario. SMC has a post on Facebook about this and even admits that the C rate listed on his packs is fake. He does this to keep up with the rest of the market.

Most lipo batteries can only handle actual amp loads of between 80 and 150 amps. If you took one of these batteries https://www.maxamps.com/hard-case-lipo-6000xl-3s-11-1v-savage-flux-pair and put it under a 600a load it would explode. If those c rates on those batteries were even close to being true you could start a car with them.

Tldr that amp rating is the true amp rating for the battery. C rates are a lie.

Take the snippet here about Graphene with a grain of salt, these seem more his opinions and personal bias, than they are facts. https://www.smc-racing.net/index.php?route=product/category&path=163
Mind blown!

Wow, your guys' ideas of "budget" batteries is funny! Buget to me would be no more than $50 a battery, yet you guys are throwing suggestions for $100-120 each batteries like they're cheap!

Well they use virgin materials and are available for me in the local Hobbytown store. Have had 0 fires, no puffiness from miscare, hold a charge well, and stay balanced. I abuse my packs brutally.

Well, I run a single pack for less resistance from batteries to esc.

Great packs if you race..very reliable.
Overpriced, overhyped and made up C and amp rates.

"MAXAMPS, The most expensive 6S 5450mah on the planet was by far the worst pack I've ever tested. It failed in every metric so badly I actually feel sorry for the company more then the customers they should be issuing recall notices to. This "True 120C" unit is not even a decent 10C product. Originally I purchased the 5000mah "True 100C" version at a cost higher then TP's Rampage. It tested so bad it almost popped before completing a standard 25C run. Figuring it was simply defective I returned it for the recommended 5450mah "True 120C" version.

Here's where it gets weird because I've always riled against over priced packs: I LOVE THESE GUYS! I received some of the best support I've ever encountered, on par with Dinogy's MarkF. If the $250 5450mah would have compared favorably with his $140 70C unit I would have considered buying more even at their horrendously inflated price. No amount of service or salesmanship could have built a successful company using this caliber of cells, right? They must have received a very bad shipment and simply need to overhaul their inhouse QC procedures. Otherwise theirs is the worst kind of scam. Competitively both units tested are not worth $50 each. It's the only one I've ever filed a Paypal refund claim against because they didn't send what I ordered. "

Jesus guys, i KNOW that most of you can afford $100 to $120 a piece batteries...and I know they're probably considered cheap tmo you, but try to remind yourself not everyone makes real money in this lifetime, and if $40 to $50 a battery are all I can afford, I really don't need to be reminded that "$120 a battery is cheap"...that isnt helpful to those of use living below middle class, close to poverty levels....

Also, the SMC's look promising, but are on back order, so who knows when I would get them...I'll look up the Lectrons now...

The suggestions are not meant to patronize you, but simply suggestions via what we each might be running in out rigs. My apologies if my post came across in a negative manner, it was not intentional by any means. Lipo's are pricey no matter what brand you choose. They are delicate and dangerous if not manufactured or treated properly, and they have shipping restrictions as a result. Believe me, I would love to find a much cheaper yet reliable 6s pack than one that costs this much. ?

There is no reason to get upset, if you don't like what we are recommending than you can certainly look someplace else, but you will most likely get the same answers.

And from my personal experience cheap batteries are cheap for a reason, because they suck and things like this happen when you try to charge them.

This is a $50 3s 5000mah 50c lipo. I got 3 runs out of this.

These are brand new 5200mah 2s lipos, first charge.

When it comes to lipo batteries you really do get what you pay for. You want a cheap price you are going to get a cheap battery.

And trust me when I tell you this, not all of us are rich and can just toss $100 down on a single battery either. I really budget my spending when it comes to rc stuff. If I find something I want I save until I have enough money to get it. Or I use easy pay from Tower or Affirm financing from Amain and Horizon.

How about Turnigy 3s, 5000mah, 25c for $115 for 4 of them on Amazon?
What are you running them in? A 5000mah 25c lipo doesn't have enough amps for the BLX 3s or the 1/8th models.
