I need recommendations for some budget wheel/tire combos (assembled preferred) that would fit Raider XL buggy. I know the car has 12mm HEX but it has different size for the front and back. That's when I am getting lost. I am mostly interested in street (pavement) tires but could get a replacement dirt tires as well. Not looking for a performance tires. Just something inexpensive to replace the worn out stock tires.

I know you will hard pressed to find the OE ones. I could be wrong?
Someone here might know better.

I do not need the OE ones. Anything that will fit is fine. I am just lost on all the options (sizes, widths, etc).

You don't really have ANY options. Except OE wheels. I never said you needed or wanted them.:)
Search for anything OE. Check Ebay from time to time.
Very little support for the Raider XL at this point in time. It was a cool inexpensive 2WD buggy when it was released years ago.(y)
You will have to get real creative to fit something else. Modding etc.
Sure it can be done. I am sure it has been done before by others. (y) Finding an aftermarket bolt-on solution may be an issue, that's all.

Hi

I would switch over to A.E. clamp hex's, If you can still find them. That's what I'm running on mine.

I have absolutely no knowledge about the Raider except I wish I was in the hobby when it was out!
Send pictures when you got her all set and ready to go!!!

Its trial and error at this point. The Raider is obsolete?? I think it is close to a 1/8 2wd buggy in size if I am correct. And odd size buggy as Rc's go.
Try some 1/10 12mm hex buggy or truggy wheels from Proline.?? Mix and match the front and rear sizes to suit as needed. All I would do at this point if I had a Raider. Get creative. Try finding a LHS that can trial fit them before you buy them??? IDK much else.
Did you check PL out yet?

I'm a total newb - dusting off an old Raider 1/10 to use with my son, but it needs new rear tires.

A few questions:
  1. The first post in this thread mentions "12mm HEX" - what does that mean?
  2. Would a pair of Pro-Line Trencher 2.2" tires for a 1:16 Revo (Part #1194-11) work as rear tire replacements?
  3. Is it better to buy new tires mounted on wheels or buy the tires and re-glue to the original wheels? (which look sweet on the Raider BTW!)
