With the lack of inventory from Hobbico, it seems difficult to find decent LiPos available. I am looking for either 2x 3s or a 6s for a third gen Typhon. Any recommendations?

Turnigy batteries from Hobbyking

Turnigy Graphene 3s 5000mah 65c https://hobbyking.com/en_us/graphene-5000mah-3s-65c-w-xt90.html?___store=en_us
Turnigy 6s 5000mah 60c https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy...ah-6s-60c-lipo-pack-xt-90.html?___store=en_us

Other companies to look into are
SMC Racing https://www.smc-racing.net/
gensacearespammers https://www.amainhobbies.com/gens-ace/b-zkq-2126
And if money isn't an option you can get Max Amps https://www.maxamps.com/products/talion-blx-packs but prepare to sell your first born child and a couple kidneys.

I saw those but was a bit skeptical. Why are they so cheap compared to most other batteries?

30 day warranty most likely. Most other batteries have a year or even a lifetime warranty in the case of Max Amps.

The Max Amps looks pretty good. Especially if the reviews are real.

They are supposed to be the best batteries you can buy, and they sure as hell better be for $250 for 1 6s lipo.

I have been using venom for years, and I have just recently purchased a 6s and a couple 3s graphene. I haven’t run them yet, but have heard and seen great responses in videos.

On 5S I use the below battery, set the ESC to nihm/nicad (no LVC, fyi);

The esc will not read 5S, if I recall it will not work/run at all. So to trick the system the battery type needs to be nihm/nicad.
At the beginning I was stressed out about it, that I may go below 3.50v per cell. 99% I already know when is reaching the limit, the battery output degrades ever so slightly. Used to set the timer in my watch, not anymore. Or if too worried I hook up to the balance connector a small volt checker and when I know am getting close to the limit I bring it back and peek real quick. I don't like the LVC alarms as they are inconsistent, and becomes annoying after a while, in fact I end up ripping out or muzzling the speaker with hot glue. So far I have never gone below 3.50v per cell.
And when I run 4 or 6 cells I leave it as if, I don't go into the programming to read lipo, and its around a year since then...

Have ran the Talion on 6S a few times, but it gets too crazy and I really don't enjoy it and with the bigger tires is a handful (besides the obvious of putting too much strain on components).

I get the same punch and bashing "fix" with a 5S and if the ground is too loose, on 4S.

I use Glacier from Buddy RC. Used them for years in my RC Helis and they are way more demanding than RC cars (same 6s battery in heli runs out in 4 mins compared to 20 with Kraton). I have over 150 cycles and they still work with no balance issues.

I've been running SMC 2S lipos for the past year. The first packs I bought were 4 9000mah 2S 60C packs for my brushless revo that I also run in my savage flux. One of the 4 dropped a cell on me last week. So, it made it 16 months. I also have 4 of the 7400 90C 2S and one pair of the 9500 90C 2S packs.

I always storage mode my packs after bashing and on occasion, I will charge a couple the night before, then charge 4 more the following morning before a bash. I try to use all of them that I charge in the vehicles, but even if I don't, I storage charge them which brings them back down from full charge.

In an effort to needlessly cycle the packs less, I have purchased/installed a 2x12A charger in my car so I don't have to charge so many backs before I go so as to try and keep cycles down as when I charge up 8 packs and take them, I usually break something and end up discharging some of them on the charger. So now, I can charge 4 in the morning and recharge them in while out bashing.

I found out last weekend that charging packs takes a heavy toll on a car battery... had to get a jump. It didn't occur to me that charging a few packs would drain my battery that much. Probably fully charged 10-12 packs, a pair of a buddies 3Sx5000mah packs 2 or 3 times, a pair of my 2Sx7400 a couple times and another guys 3Sx5000 a couple times and maybe a pair of my 2Sx9000 packs once.

I have lots of different batteries. So far the gensacearespammers has been my go to but all of them work great. Cost is all over the place so I've just been taking chances. If you take care of your batteries they all work great.

No, but it does add cost. Not a lot, but a few $ per pack depending on the plugs you run. Best if you can just get the packs with the plugs you need.
I can get 20(10 male 10 female) real xt90's for like $10 on ebay. Always buy in bulk.
