Why does Arrma not want to smash the Traxxas 100mph XO-1 RTR?

The XO-1 is certainly crap. I got 106MPH by just changing the pinion and f/r diff fluids to 1M weight. Handles like crap, drives like crap, and feels cheap. Love the body, but it’s thin, has no bracing, and dents easily. It also has a Mamba Monster 2 from 10+ years ago, but is locked specifically to Traxxas receivers and you can’t unlock the 50+MPH without the Traxxas App. Even when the firmware was hacked many years ago to allow it to run with other receivers, Traxxas did an update that blocked the hack. Battery options are terrible as well, and if you do one good speed run, the second will be completely different because the arms warm up and the XO-1 starts twerking like an aluminum Ford over bumps. I can hit 100MPH easily out of a stock infraction, consistently, run after run with AVC off, whereas the XO-1 requires TSM above 40MPH. Even the 2022 release was a joke with the XO-1 and they didn’t address the real problems. Traxxas may have the Fastest RTR claim, but Arrma has nothing to prove as it’s already dominated the industry with speed, durability, and consistency.

That's just such Dirty brand tactics to force consumers to stay in their ecosystem...
I'm glad I've Never given my $$$ to their RC rigs to have to find this Nasty maneuver out personally!!

Dam thing is so hard to control. What few vids I did see, the XO-1 drives like crap out the box. Flys like a Frisbee. And breaks easily , a quick fail and go home.

Specialized bicycles was a complete bully, early on before they were bought out by a Huge conglomerate Sport company, and Specialized sued everyone, all over the place globally, and also for the most stupid frivolous reasons. They put 2 competitors out of business. But with one Civil Suit, The court/Judge saw they were bullies with their track record, and awarded them just $1.00, one stinkin dollar as a message to them. Specialized won the suit, but the damages were Overuled. Were Awarded basically nothing.

I don't think anyone can compete at the price point that Rlaarlo has established.
RTR out of the it can do 140+ mph with their foam tires and proper gearing.

Haha! I guess I got a little carried away! I just felt ripped off when I got the XO-1 2022 release and realized I couldn’t canibalize its parts when I found out how crappy it was. Not only can you not unlock the ESC, but if you do manage to make it work, it’ll be limited to 50MPH as it looks for an RPM input from the receiver. XO-1 was my first speed car about 10+ years ago, so I was curious to see what was improved. Nothing. Nothing was improved. My Infraction and Felony are leaps and bounds more improved than the XO-1.

If you were not aware the XO-1 is a Slash 4x4 ultimate with a stretched chassis and GT body.
They are good if you are looking for a light weight rig, but needs so many upgrades it is just not worth it. Arrma is so much better out of the box.

All you need is some custom 3D printed name plates..
No need to markup the CF chassis.

They're removable,so you can place them anywhere!
And, if you happen to destroyed the chassis, you can take the name plate off and stick it on a new one.

I remember this when people began using it as their avatar. Around the same time that Traxass tried shutting down RCtech, purely because they didn't like some of the 'frank and open discussions' on certain threads.

I'm amazed they haven't tried to pull the same stunt here.

TRX was the only one to offer up a RTR speed runner at the time. So one can argue they paved the way for the speed runner niche crowd. That Crap is so old by today's standards. Especially at its crappy price point. What a waste of coin.
If you like that crappy Toy looking body that much, just buy the body for another brands platform. "With a face only a mother could love"., a diehard TRX fan boy. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I get it.
