Has anyone ever tried these grease packed bearings? If so…Are they any good?
Thanks!

No never seen them on AMZ. A new seller perhaps. BB's are generally generic. Just rebranded from suppliers purchased in Bulk from the major BB producers.
All BB's should be greased out the box. Are they Abec rated BB's?
TRBRC and others are similar in price give or take 3 nickels. If you get a bad or missing BB I know TRBRC for instance will oblige you in a heart beat and send out a replacemnt if the packaging is short or you just got a bad one. This can happen no matter the brand.
With AMZ you have to send the whole package back complete. Get a refund . Then repurchase. Been there. I stay with local brand sellers for BB's. Not worth saving 3 nickels with an unkown seller. Hey take a chance and try. AMZ at least has your back as a Prime purchase. Your call.

Thanks! I appreciate your thoughts on this. Usually I go with TRB…was just curious (as always).

I ordered a set for the Xmaxx I am building which another forum user recommended. I love wrenching more than driving actually so if they don't hold up, then it's shop time... :p
Have no fear, an Outcast is my next build. I'm not prejudice, I love all RCs. :)

Never heard of them but as above, they are just rebrand.

Cheaper and better, at least they are known to be good. Jim's and Fasteddy are usually the favorites.

So far I’ve had good luck with tbr (for the car) in general) and Jim’s motor bearings (for the motor). The tbrs clean up really well when I pull the seals and throw them in an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner with degreaser. I’ve only had a couple tbr bearings actually fail and they were outer wheel bearings.

^^^ Good man.
Another ultrasonic user.(y)
Small Chromium RC BB's are probably .05 cents cost items. By the time we get them, they average a $1.00/piece give or take. My spin.

Yeah, I kinda ‘borrowed’ it from my mom 😂

I have not used those but I have been running DSM marine greased bearing...
https://www.dsmoffroad.com/

Been happen when I repack mine back for bashing with marine grease over oil for better protection/longer protection. Oil does spin faster but not racing so protection is more important to me.

It's a mixed back, grease attracts dirt more than light oil.
Although, I do use a little grease on mine as well, not packed.
Even when greased within the sealed bearing it attracts dirt? That doesn’t make sense but then I don’t know enough about bearings to make said sense of it 🤔
Someone please educate me. I avoid water but super fine dust is an issue in my area.

Yes, unfortunately the seal are not 100% but nothing is. By all means, run and see what happens, buy a second set for spares. I have yet to find a mixture where I do not have to switch bearings mid season.

I find that oil works better for clean running( speed running) Grease is better for bashing. But all motors should have a high temp synthetic oil in the BB's.
Never over grease BB's. It will just push out and collect dirt around outside the seals. More is not better!
Only fill opened sealed BB's with 1/3 grease, if the chosen lube. This is the industry standard when BB's are made. All they need. Over filling them, packing them completely like they are traditional scale automobile Large bearings is no good. The balls will slide instead of roll on the inner and outer races. BB's will get hot! Galling results, then the cages will fall apart and the BB will blow out one of seals. Sometimes a seal will blow out right away because of limited grease displacement. Been there.

Thank you for this! Means I’ve over greased my tbr bearings after pulling seals and cleaning in the jewelry cleaner thing 😂 time to try again. Live f…up and learn. Yup.

How do you think I figured this out??:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I did some research and also spoke with the owner of TRBRC BB's and he said the same. No need to over fill. Works against you. 1/3 grease is all you need. the Balls are so tiny. Many years past, I only used oil. Just with Bashing, Grease is best.
I use an injection pump for my grease to fill with. Easier to not make a mistake. I do apply to both sides also. Then pop the seals back in. I spin them up by hand and you should not see any grease forcing itself past the seal out. If so, you added too much. How I check. FWIW.
Wipe them well with a drop of solvent on a cloth or similar and little dirt will attract.
@Velodromed , your Like just gave me 10,000 reaction score. Got a trophy just now.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

From your initial response I figured you learn like me…by experience and research.
Ok, another thing I’m doing wrong is not removing both seals when cleaning and re-lubing. Seems obvious now that I know 🤪
What’s the best grease to use? Is super lube synthetic okay? I’ve got tons of that. Red and tacky? Got too much of that also. Thanks man, I appreciate the advice!

Yeah you have to remove the seals. You cant clean them or lube them otherwise. It is a waste of time to not remove seals. Shielded BB's you just treat as is. But they are not truly "sealed". Just appear that they are. If you bend a seal, just flaten it out well befor installing them. They are delicate.
Using all SL products for 20+ years. Oil, Grease, Silcone grease ( o-rings), Dielectric grease etc. Headquarters in L.I. near me. I just order from The Home Depot and pick up when they call me. It gets drop shipped from the SL WH to HD. Free delivery this way. 3 days or so.
I'm happy with it. Tried many others. Still experiment with different ones. I am sure there are other good greases and oil out there.
I like Lucas Marine grease also. Thicker and WP. (my Crawlers) Mobil 1 Synth. (Red) I have here.
