Circa 1978: me “i don’t want to rake leaves (mow grass, dig a hole, water trees, insert some kind of manual labor)” Dad “it’s good to get used to doing things you don’t want to do because you spend most of you life doing just that...” He spent so much time working and doing stuff for us and almost nothing for himself. Such an unselfish, light hearted man. The years that followed, I learned what he meant even though he was half joking at the time.
