Was wondering if as the titlesays, would kraton exb shocks work on an outcast 4s?

I've fixed my 4s shocks from leaking by adding extra o-rings but I have bent the shafts pretty easily on the first proper outing. Probably poor driving but don't won't to rebuild shocks each time I use it.

I'd have to shorten the shock with a spacer or fuel line and probably change the springs, unless the 4s springs fit.

I haven't found any Typhon 6s shocks for a reasonable price and seems the exb rollers get broken up for parts pretty often.
Thanks for any info, Dan.

4s springs fit the 6s bodies.. 6s outcast and Kraton bodies use talion shafts for the 4s line.. there is a write up about it in the 3s 4s shock thread..đź‘Ť

You can also use the hr shock bodies with talion shafts, nero rod ends ( or any 6s end) and perches..

Typhon 6s shock set in the classifieds now posted by @Niz55 if you want to go that route

I would suggest getting the 6s shocks closest in size (make sure the chassis is what hit the ground if the shocks bottom out) or get the proline metal shocks

The Proline shocks are really only designed for the 3s line, the springs are too soft for the 4s line another member even made a thread about it.

If money was no object I would get Teknos if you are on a budget the Hobao Hyper SS shocks.

Thanks for the info everyone, I'm in the UK so I think the Typhon shocks in the classifieds are a no go for me.

Check eBay, Rons Rc and Badtouchbeakers they are UK based and have Typhon shocks from time to time.
Or get these
Front 108mm eye to eye https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124666200917?epid=9016805155&hash=item1d06af4355:g:5r0AAOSwlwhgaN3e
Rear 125mm eye to eye https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124580518120?epid=2256152390&hash=item1d0193d8e8:g:ROEAAOSwga1gLwRw

  • Stock front shocks for the 4s models are 106mm eye to eye.
  • Stock rear shocks for the 4s models are 121mm eye to eye.

Those hoboa shocks look pretty nice.

What's the actual difference between kraton and Typhon shocks? Is it just the shock shaft?
Are the shock caps and bodies the same length and the length of the shaft makes the difference?

I've been looking at kraton exb shock mainly because they come up ÂŁ30 a pair which is a reasonable price. I could then change the shaft or just reduce the travel with nitro tubing.

The Kraton 6s shocks are a little bit bigger all together and the springs are a lot stiffer than Typhon 6S shocks and springs.

Thanks for all the info everyone, it's been very helpful and I've had a good read through the suspension threads.

One last question though, can you fit the 6s shafts into the 4s hot racing shock bodies? Think they are both 4 mm diameter.
