Arrma RC's
  1. Typhon 3s
Sorry for all the questions on what bodies fit on the Typhon, I'm just curious 🤷‍♂️. Any idea if a limitless body, V1 or V2, if there's any difference, doesn't matter what version to me, would fit on the new 223s Typhon?

Not even in the ballpark. Shop for bodies based on the wheelbase and width of what you need.

Fair enough lol
That’s for a reasonable fit. That said, if you can get close to it many bodies can be modified to fit, especially for monster trucks, as the “scale” factor isn’t really there to begin with their bodies.
Typhons are my favorite rigs to modify and re-body. Your 223s has the same dimensions as the 6s Typhon, and that means you have a lot of options. Not necessarily in a formula/open wheel look, though. I’ll bet the nose cone could be cut down a little to look right. Then you could shop for or fabricate a rear wing for it that would lend to the look. In the middle, look around for a buggy body that lends itself. Personally, I don’t think the stock body is bad at all, and has elements that are a little reminiscent of some current 1:1 open wheel cars. If you got a clear one and painted it along with the other pieces I’ll bet you’d get a cool, cohesive look.
In regard to all of your other posts about bodies: there are a ton of bodies out there for 325 or 328mm wheelbase cars. Don’t be fooled by “1/8” though, make sure you look at the measurements. If you look at the main menu at Delta Plastics, there are four different choices for 1/8 scale bodies, and only 2 of them fit your car. One is too long, one is too small. Their “1/8 GT 325mm” are the ones that fit, and their Traxxas Slash bodies fit. (Pretty much anything made for a Traxxas Slash fits too.). The Arrma Vendetta bodies don’t, even though they are listed as a 1/8 scale. This topic was also one of my main points of confusion when I first started in the hobby. Silly me, I thought 1/10 meant 1/10, 1/8 meant 1/8, etc. Nope!
Some of my favorites are DeltaPlastics, BittyDesign, and ProLine.

Wow! Thanks for the in-depth explanation! Im thinking of modding my typhon, but Im first exploring some paths to take with it. About 1/8, for buggys I find that you should move up? (as in bigger numbers like 1/10), as my 1/8 typhon is slightly bigger than a 1/10 Vorteks, so I would almost put my scale at 1/9. Is this the same with most buggies? About Traxxas slash bodies, my 223s Typhon is a clipless... if Im not mistaken, Slash's are not. How hard is that to change?

I've been looking for good nose cones, but haven't really found any good ones, ( other than the stewpodRc's (misspelled on purpose)as it is not my favorite) look)

Other than that, I was also thinking of truggifying. What are the benefits of that? Anyone know?

The scale system is ... kind of broken.
1/8 buggys are loosely based on real life buggies. But the slash (or senton that runs the same chassis as the typhon) would normally be called 1/10. Because its based on a truck thats physically bigger than the real life buggy. Likewise, a 1/10 road car would often be smaller than the senton/slash, because they are based on road cars.
1/8 scale monster trucks were born because they are ~20% larger than 1/10 but weren't exactly based on a real life truck at the time of naming. 1/8 most often refers to monster trucks and buggies.
The clipless system should be able to be mounted to any body but it wont have nice holes for you predrilled. Youll need to find the location and drill them yourself.
The slash bodies fit the senton reasonably well, with trimming. They may or may not fit a typhon well. Heavy fender cutting might be needed since the typhon is wider than the senton.

Making it into a truggy from a typhon means adding larger wheels and often hex extenders. Becomes less nimble, maybe a little slower, but gains some ground clearance and probably jumps better. A buggy with truck wheels is often called a monster buggy if you wanted to give that a search here. Would you have then created a 1/10 monster truck then? I dunno, like I said its kind of a broken system.

No, you pretty much need to just order by wheelbase and don’t pay any attention when someone says what scale their rig is. They are pretty arbitrary numbers that vary widely enough between manufacturers to create frustration. For example, Traxxas calls the Slash a 1/10 and it’s pretty clearly larger than that. Before I learned this, I ended up with a whole box of 1/10 scale RC truck accessories that are comically small and of no use to me.
The arms on a Typhon are perfect for 325/328mm GT road bodies. To go that route, you would just need Limitless shock towers, Limitless shocks, and a bag of Arrma plastic body posts and mounts to do the conversion.
I think most 1/8 buggy bodies would fit a Typhon with very few mods.
I’m not a fan of truggified Typhons, so I have no experience with that conversion. I know guys are changing a-arms, tires, mounts, etc. but don’t know what they would need to be. I’m sure you could learn a lot by perusing some build threads here. It’s what I do when I have questions, especially about bodies on a particular model and what you need to do to get them to work.
I’m not into the Stoopid products either. In fact, putting an aluminum front splitter on a 100mph open-wheel car that weighs 20#’s has got Bad Idea written all over it.
I see that @Chapinb beat me to the punch with his post above.

I like truggified buggies. Most of my builds end up somewhere in that category. Big arm/tired brutes are too clumsy and Im not a good enough driver to utilize a nimble buggy well. So I split the difference to gain some ground clearance and suspension travel. A short mojave in arrma's case.
There is something special about how a light buggy handles, cant deny that.

Agreed. Maybe I’ll try throwing a set of taller wheels on my only stock Typhon some time. The extra ground clearance would indeed be nice.

Talion or asuga size tires are my fav size for these builds. Tall, narrow, light, minimal side wall. The 6s mojave tires arnt too bad either, but feel a little clunky by comparison.

Good info, thanks! I actually have a reasonably fresh set of Fortresses lying around, I might give them a shot. I’ll probably have to drop a pinion tooth or two.

The stock limitless body is meant for a 1/7 scale ..the Typhon is a 1/8 ..so the answer is No ..But there is a yes only if you extend/ stretch the chassis by using a aluminum chassis from a kraton or you fabricate your own chassis..for a aluminum kraton chassis it's a simple swap over..but there two ways to go with a cover .1 you can use a Typhon body and use extended standoffs from the rear shock towers to meet your body post holes in the cover or you can simply buy a GT cover of your choice and simply use different kinds of body post lengths to work .or make your own ...even if you stretch your Typhon by using a aluminum kraton chassis .using a 1/7 body cover ,let's say something like a FC 100 you'll still end up short towards the rear .and you either don't cut the rear wheel well openings ...if you use a 1/7 body cover GT style you'll need to change your control arms for it to look right .cause 1/7 body's are wider ...can all this be done ? Yes .I'm king of customizing ..I've done it all on multiple builds ..there is nothing you can't do in this hobby so don't let anyone tell you that you can't...I'll send you some pics of work I've done .I'm actually in the process of a new build and it's a stretched Typhon GT ..I got you 👍

So for example, this body: (https://deltaplastikusa.com/collect...f-0118-jag-xrs-8th-scale-gt-rc-speed-run-body) would fit? It just would require limitless shocks+shocktowers, and some Arrma mounts... if so, this would definitely be a contender. Would the better aerodynamics help the car go faster too? Or would it take a new motor, esc, and reciver? (esc+reciver due to the 2n1 for my new 223s typhon)

It's definitely possible as long as you follow through your mods first.👍

The a-arms are the same for the 1/7 Lim and the 1/8 Typhon. Some bodies are indeed a little wider, especially at the rear if they’re configured for the Felony.

That will fit perfectly. I really like that. I almost pulled the trigger on one last year. It’s weird that Delta doesn’t display a picture of the actual BRG Jag livery, as the decals come with it. I’ve seen some done in the “proper” scheme and they look fantastic. Definitely one of my favorite Delta bodies.

I see! You did the Porshe body from delta on one of your builds, correct? Was that also a Typhon? It was the if I crash I cause the most financial damage or something lol.

😂 I remember now… That one was a 962. The Jaegermeister car is an FC100 body and is also a 328mm wheelbase (Typhon) as well as the Bug basher. All of these are Typhon dimensions:
