XLX2: Is it better to reverse the motor direction using CastleLink or reverse throttle setting on the transmitter (RadioLink)? Or does it not matter?

If you reverse it on the transmitter and get full throttle and brake I don't see a problem with it. Be sure to calibrate your radio and your ESC after switching it either way. It may not be necessary but it is best to always recalibrate after any change. Reset your steering end points while you are at it if you haven't done that recently.

makes a difference if running sensored or not.

*from castle:
Brushless Motor Wiring, Sensored Motors* (Figure 2): For sensored brushless motor connections, the three wires from the ESC to the motor DO HAVE polarity. Connect the ESC to the motor. Connect A to A, B to B, C to C, and install the sensor harness** after removing the dust cover. In order to change the motor direction, use Castle Link or transmitter programming.
