I have a xlx2 and a castle 2028 1700 kv motor. xlx2 keeps throwing excessive load detected. spur is 42t pinion is 36t, ive tried many different gear configs. pulled data logs and have 100% input and a voltage drop on trigger pull to almost nothing. sent everything back to castle and my data logs. they sent me a new xlx2 and 2028 1700kv. they said the only thing it could be was the batteries , but ive brought multiple pairs of high end batteries (SMC srd speed run 10600mah 250c, v3, multiple types of cnhl, multiple types of powerhobby )$1000s . i have scorched rc driveshafts with o rings but they spin freely with no resistance and radiolink rc6gs transmitter. all equipment is brand new on v2 limitless and get the same results. ive been on the phone multiple times with castle and they said they are at a loss without seeing the car. with no lvc car still cuts out at about 96mph most times . when i can get to 120ish mph it still cuts out including excessive load warning. that esc and motor should be able to reach 180ish mph. I guess i brought a very expensive paper weight LOL .all esc settings are set to what castle recommends. I am somewhat a noob to speed runs but not rc cars so hopefully its something stupid ive missed .please help

Are you running 6s or 8s? Sounds like you need to work on your trigger pull. It has to be very gradual. Go balls out right off the line and amp load rises to mad levels. I’d recommend the Perfect Pass Launch Control, which ramps up throttle automatically over the course of several seconds.
And welcome to the forum.

also wanted to add batteries are new and ive tried with and without razs perfect pass. before this setup i had a 1717 and mamba monster x 8s esc and i ran 130 mph no issues. this is also an 8s series setup.
i also have a castle b link installed if that might be messing with something ????

no fans, servo is the spektrum s652.

i can solder smaller projects, but i wanted to make sure it was done right so my local hobby shop did the soldering and i asked them to put a decent amount of solder in the cups of the qs8 connections
castle is stumped as well. thinking of a new radio or servo , its the only thing left that has not been replaced
or maybe a Tp motor, because this is an expensive paper weight if it doesn't work correctly , but i appreciate your help. thank you

Where’s punch control set to ?
Start power ?
Timing?

Post up the car setup,
Vehicle
Diff ratio
Tire sizes

Upload your logs showing the run itself where it cuts

limitless v2, diff 43/15,spur 42 pinion 36, grp s3 96mmx42mm. Here are 2 different gearing set up 34p39s and 36p39s. timing is lowest (0). punch is disabled ,but ive tried it enabled as well. start power is set to low. sometimes i cant get to 100% power and now the lvc is off.

Try to open those logs again and zoom in to the specific runs
Find one run that had the error, click the mouse to the left of the run at the top, then drag the cursor to the bottom of the graph after the run

here is to most recent runs, both times excessive load detected.(no lvc)

ok. thats not even the bottom of the voltage drops . see the mouse says 2 volts

ok. thank you

I have the same setup and the same problem. I am fairly new to speed running myself. My amp draw is over 500 and my voltage drop was to 14 on my last run using cnhl 6600 120c 4s packs in a series. Sadly to say my xlx2 was impacted and now it will boot up and work servo but will not power the motor. I don't understand how the voltage sag could hurt the esc.

Yeah it dropped to 14.8v and either messed up my xlx2 or my motor. My ESC still boots up and acts like it's working fine but the motor won't respond

Yeah and I don't know why. My soldering is impeccable. I guess it was maybe a faster than needed trigger and it caused a quicker than anticipated sag in voltage but I think the batteries may not be up to par either. Any ideas why the xlx2 will boot up normally and operate everything except motor? Maybe motor? Sensor? Something internal in ESC?
