Doesn’t take much to bend a shaft. I’ve personally witnessed a set screw back off, and contact the motor plate thereby bending the F out of a stock Spektrum motorshaft in a 6s Talion EXB like nothing.
I almost bought that Permatex orange gel at parts store Friday.Never mind, they just failed me. I hope this is the last of my pinions that I used Loctite on before I switched to Permatex Orange Gel.

I prefer it so far, but I haven't used it for long. I have an assortment of Traxxas aluminum parts all bound up with dried blue Loctite 272 from 2019, so I decided it was time to try something else.
I installed a Tekno pinion yesterday mixing blue paste & purple liquid. Hopefully it'll hold tight but release in the near future. 18t gonna try it, go up to 20t soon.
you get a bigger grub screw with the tekno pinions don't you
Yes, M5. Robinson are M4. And I file tested the pinion- it's hard.
