This build will take a while and will get some hand-me-downs from both my 6s Typhon and 6s Infraction as well as a bunch of brand new parts. I plan to keep this as detailed as possible including where the parts came from and a running cost of the build, which you can find below.

Lets get this started with a base to build the car from - the chassis. The chassis I'll be using is the Mojave/Fireteam chassis, part # ARA320542.

It arrived last week and is ready to have parts attached!

I've been slowly acquiring parts and adding them to the chassis. I've installed some of the Typhon plastics, receiver, front and rear bulkheads, and center differential.

Only 2 of the 4 screw holes line up on the Typhon side guards with the Mojave chassis, the first and the third (counting from the front of the car). Since this car will be a parking lot basher and is not intended for off-road usage, this should be plenty enough. Everything else has bolted into place without any modifications.

Just curious, why didn't you put in the center driveshafts? I've found those factory input cups suck & are really wobbly, so w/ the longer center driveshafts you will notice a lot more. M2c & tekno make nice quality upgrades- highly recommend

The Tekno part number is TKR5075. I replaced the wobbly cups with the Tekno part on several of my cars.

I don't have the drive shafts yet. ;) Those are one of the next items on my list to order. Is it worthwhile to get some upgraded driveshafts right away, or go with the stock first?

I recently upgraded to the Tekno cups on my Infraction and will likely do that on this car as well. The stock parts are there currently because that's how they come from Jennys as complete units including diffs.

Kinda depends on what you're doing. If you're going to put it flat out I'd upgrade, but if you're just hooning around stay w/ the stockers. Just me🤷‍♂️

I’m not focusing on speed running, but I’ll definitely be doing drag racing against @kenyanr1, and may do a speed run pass occasionally with @dure16 and @InvinciBill.

I see you work on your projects with as blazing Fast an effort as me... 🤣

Finally! An Update!

Over the past couple of weeks, I've found small pockets of time to work on this project. It is getting closer and closer to being drivable! I've updated the parts list table at the top of this thread. In the list is the front center chassis brace despite it not being installed on the car - its been ordered, but it is on backorder.

Some photos:

How do you plan to mount the body?

I started looking at this and saw it was going to be an issue once I completed the top center brace bar. I knew others had also built XL stretch Typhons with the stock Typhon body, so I started looking really closely at the photos and videos they had posted. I eventually found this post from @K-BASH and plan to copy this method.

The XLT is complete!

Had a short run with it yesterday in the neighborhood. I setup some cones in the street to make a small circular track and had some fun. No speed numbers yet as I didn't hook up the GPS, nor did I ever go past 50% throttle.
