39/39 not fitting

Bought motor slide and mount from m2c for the 39/39 gearing but when I put the pinion it hits the spur gear cover. Any advise? How do people run the 39/39 normally

flipped it around and put the 44t with 39tspur, do you think thats gonna be too much with a 650kv motor?

The mount I bought came with a plastic piece to raise the cover.
If it were me, I'd just let the pinion carve itself some room.
