I'm looking for a new body shell for my rival mt10 and the stock one is fairly expensive to buy, I was looking at other options and it seems like the measurements are similar between both. I also heard some people mention the stampede body being compatible but I'm not completely sure.

No the stocker is not that much more $$$. Are you counting nickels?? I wouldn't split $hairs$. Part of the hobby. Sometimes you have to Pay to Play. Buy a clear stocker one and paint up your own custom job.

MT10 Version 2 Body below:

V2 looks to be the stronger one . Better body lines for reinforcement. Not sure which one you originally have there.

Stampede prepainted body looks hideous. Not my taste, but its in the same price range. Your call.
Just get a stocker clear body and paint her up. What I would do.
Not much aftermarket body support for that AE MT10 anyway. No support for the AE MT10 in general. Check out Proline bodies, to mod one up for the MT10 chassis. Just they can be even more costly. Wheelbase, width and body post spacing is all critical if trying to fit a Non MT10 body on there.
