  1. Typhon 6s
I’m ALL IN! I’ve pushed all my chips forward. I’m brand spanking new. I have no idea what I’m doing. I’m about to fail more than I succeed. When I succeed, I plan to BASH the hell out of this planet. This is blog describing what a brand new cold start looks like. This is a good read for those who are planning to be baptized into hobby.

I bought a Typhon 6S BLX. Ready to Run.....NOT! I also needed
HTRC DUO - Charger
Li-Po batteries
Li-Po Bags
A work station
A work board
Cutters
Wire Stripers
Heat Shrink Wrap ( Wire covering )
60/40 Lead Solder
FLUX
*** All the other things I can’t remember while writing this. ***

WOW! The cost of the things I need has surpassed the price of the vehicle. Thank goodness I have an R/C boat as well.
I haven’t even got to the controller yet.

It’s a lot guys. Am I going to be able to pick up any chicks with this thing?

This guy got a girlfriend! ???. There's hope for me!
“Somewhere.....out there! Beneath the pale moonlight” ??

I watched that vid. sometime ago before. And I said to myself, she drives really well. Very comfortable with the Tx. A natural. Great to have a lady that loves it and shares your Hobby.:)(y)

Well, I just started my winter vacation. Spending some time with people close to me. I have received pretty much everything I need to attempt my first soldering project. It’s a shame I don’t have anything in the house to practice on. Most likely, I will try to do the project Dec 24th. I want to make sure that everybody and everything is out of the house when I try to add new connectors to the Lipo batteries I purchased.

In other news, I believe I had found a nice dirt area where I can run the car. I’m looking forward to bashing planet Earth just a bit. Step #1 is just getting the car all setup. I couldn’t get the Flux I wanted. I have Flux but it has a nail polish brush inside. Not sure how much of that stuff I should use on the wires.

I’m ready to go. I will make a video of myself trying to solder. If it blows up in my face like an ACME kit, at least people will learn from my mistakes.

Flux paste or liquid is fine. Flux is good if you only use VERY little. You got this. I see you researched very well. Do you have some old broken electronics? An old PC? Broken, alarm clock? Anything with wires inside. To practice for a few minutes. It will build initial confidence and give you a feel for the solder melting and how the flux will flow. Just a thought. Good luck.

Love that security guard at the end. He’s really keeping that 100acrea empty parking lot safe. No fun zone.
