Picked one up yesterday. Stripped her down. Took notes. Shimmed and greased the diffs. My fingers ache from working on the small parts. Sucks getting old, I tell ya.

Drove her around her and there. Feels lazy. Motor and ESC gots ta go. Stayed up all night looking at options.

Motor and ESC recommendation/suggestions welcome. TIA.

I say Hobbywing 10BL60 SD for the esc it's way overkill for this platform but it has a really small footprint without the fan it is approximately the same size as a 35mm fan.

As far as motors go if you want sensored the Rocket Supersonic 390 either the 4550kv or 3650kv if going sensorless the Tenshock X1401L 4550 kv . I have the Tenshock X1401 4850kv in my 1/18 Ruckus and it rips I can only imagine what the X1401L can do in a 1/18 scale. 1401 is a 2938 sized can while the 1401L is 2943.

For reference this is how big the 10BL60 is it is in my 1/16 Summit BIC lighter for scale.

-edit- I only run my minis on 2s, my LC Racing EMB-t truggy with the Tenshock 1401 and Hobbywing 10BL120SD drives like my Kraton with the stock Arrma BLX185 system on 6s, running 3s on these with the above mentioned setups would be about the equivalent to running 8s on a 6s Kraton.

Smoking is bad for you 🤣

Since HH can’t get their 💩 together with the new Grom upgrades.. Ordered an esc/servo mount so I can make the conversion to brushless. Keep an eye out, I’ll post pics of the lil monster when it’s done. 🤙

Should end up looking something kinda like this.

I already started to design my own platform. The brass inserts are a must-have, not a nice-to-have, IMPO.

Any update on this project? I want to upgrade my Grom tk brushless as well.
