I'm using the stock 16t pinion but remember, I'm in it for teh wheelies

I've also run an 18t Pinion for speed but I would NOT run a 21t pinion on the stock system. I wouldn't even run it on the 6s system with the 4072 motor. Not necessary in my opinion. Heat has been negligible with my setup (4072 2050kv, 150a esc, 16t pinion)

Ok, got it. I would suggest getting a set of, say, 5 pinions and then experiment. See what works best for you. I have this set which comes with 17, 18, 19, 20 & 21 I originally bought when I was testing my Senton. It has also come in handy with both my Mojave and Vendetta when it comes to experimenting.

For that my recommendation would be to consult the manufacturers recommendation re esc and motor temps.
