Hello again,

I've been doing some Amazon wishlisting and I would like to get a screw kit as buying a set of 2 or 4 screws at a time is getting annoying and expensive. I know that the screw kits don't necessarily have all of the screws you would use on the Typhon or the Big Rock, but am having difficulty narrowing the general rc screw kits down to one that covers most of what you need.

This is mainly because some of the screws are getting to the point where I may have to hacksaw the limb they are attached to  (this is down to being a noob and not having a decent set of hex wrenches when I first started out. If you have any good Amazon links to share it would be really appreciated.

Many thanks for the help.
Mat.

I never buy screw kits... stupid expensive that way man (as you mentioned).. if you know the size ya need i recommend
https://www.fastener-express.com/

They are who I get all mine from. Especially if I'm doing something showy or racey and want anodized aluminum.
I just ordered right at 100 aluminum screws in 4-40 sizes and it was $37 shipped.... add those up on any rc site and see what they cost. They got like everything you could want/need.

Thanks @Bustedaw11 - I'll go check that one out.

Whooaaa they've got colors! I just bought a Team Associated RC8.2e and I'm going to give it a bit of a restoration and I think these blue screws would really pick it up. Thanks.

For anyone interested I just did a quick table fo the part numbers, their alternative part number, type of fitting, size, and a rough estimate of the quantity needed to replace all screws on a Typhon. Pretty sure there's a decent crossover with other models.

Yep! I understand the associated thing. I'm an old Associated nut. Just did all blue aluminum hardware on 1 of my tc4 builds im doing. Got red coming for my xxx-t...... I may have a problem, but atleast it cost a lot less through them 🤣

Your welcome and good luck 👍

That's handy. Thanks for sharing 👍

Thanks for all of the ideas people. If anyone has good Amazon links I would appreciate it as I live in South Africa and it's the only reasonable way for me to get stuff over. Locally it is a pain as you have to ring all the shops and they say "sure we have them", you drive a 100kms and they go "oh I thought you meant this one". Then part of your soul gets taken.

haven't found any decent amazon links. But i’ve bought tons of hardware from this seller on ebay.
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/113806759635?hash=item1a7f6956d3:g:yfgAAOSw6QJdHeDa

Most small stuff is packs of 50-100, over the last year ive bought basically every size/style found on my 1/10 rc trucks/crawlers, and m1.3/m2 for 1/24 crawlers. Have them all in little screw organizers.
Probably ~100$ into it, but i have instant replacements for everything, and use alot of the stuff for various 3d printing projects as well.

There is also this cross reference pdf.

Sorry to report but I searched Amazon and couldn't find any specific screw kits that weren't stainless (whatever you do, don't get stainless screws, the metal is softer and the hexes round out way too easily). The only steel screw kits I found were just generic universal kits. Given the choice between those two, I would opt for one of the universal kits with steel screws. 12.9 screws would be preferrable but 10.9 would do in a pinch if that's all they have.

The other day I found out they make 14.9 grade screws. Those might be a bit overkill for a 3s but for us 6s guys that is a plus. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09NR8X2LV/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3KEIBWKST18IS&psc=1

If you absolutely insist on going stainless, Team KNK is hands down the best screw kit, but their website is rather odd to navigate. Unlike the RC Screwz, Amazon and eBay stainless kits these guys actually use a high grade stainless steel. However stainless steel is still going to be softer than the stock 10.9 grade hardware on the Arrma 4x4/Boost platform. https://teamknkhardware.com/arrma/1....html?search_query=arrma+typhon+3s]&results=2

I still don't think I would trust any type of stainless steel screw on the 6s line anywhere the screw supports a load, basically everything except for your receiver box, esc tray, esc screws, screws for the esc fan, side guards and I think that is about it.

Nice (y)

These are some great options. I'm going to probably go through a manufacturer and get the most common sizes. I want better quality screws that I don't have to worry about stripping.

I don't know how you're outfitted on the tool side but, If you haven't yet taken the step, do yourself a favor and invest in quality hex drivers. If nothing else, at least get a good 2mm hex. 2.5mm are more robust and anything 3mm and above the need for a high quality tool diminishes rapidly. Personally, I'm a Wera tool guy, I know a lot of people on here run with MIP. Either would be a solid choice.

Yup, I'm on the MIP driver bandwagon. It's all I use now.
