Granite 4x4 Rear METAL diff & MIP Driveshafts #18

Here's the heart of the beast. The input shaft was cut & milled down to 4mm. I took a Granite hub axle, cut it, & drilled a 4mm hole down the center & a 2mm hole on the side for a pin to fit. A 2x10mm pin was cut to 5.5mm & inserted into the joined axle & input shaft. The whole thing was then double heat treated before adding the gear, bearing, & shims.

That's as strong as those diffs can get. After that, it all hinges on those tiny input gear bearings. Bearing sizes greatly affect the life of diffs. That's why the smaller 6s ARRMA diffs are able to handle what they do. The inner input gear bearing.
