This is gonna be sweet! I've never cut MDF with the laser. I know that those thin parts are going to be tricky. I usually use acrylic but thin parts are prone to warping, so you probably made the right choice. (y)

Thanks! Some test-cut pieces were promising in terms of strength and warpage, and I really wanted a material that significantly changed color when engraved (hence the wood). I was toying with the idea of making one out of red oak or walnut, but the material cost is 5-8 times more expensive than birch plywood 😬
