Arrma 6s drivetrain is great and will pretty much handle whatever you throw at it imo. At worse you might wear out drive cups a little faster but you can just reverse them and get double the use from them or upgrade for cheap.

I think im at this:

Castle Mamba Monster X 8S, 33.6V ESC $200

Castle Creations 1515-2200KV Sensored Brushless Motor
41.4mm diameter, 75.4mm length; shaft: 5mm diameter, 20mm length, 1.1 pounds. $161

I like the size and power of the Monster X 8S ESC. It fits better in my rig and it's got Balls enough, don't really need a cap-pack with 6S. Im basically only running 6S. No room for 8S Lipos under my Typhon hood really.

another $100 for the Bluetooth Adapter and quality HS and fans for the motor.

I can try a 8S 1650KV motor if I want very easily.

I also have all the parts (thanks Jenny) for both a Kraton and Mojave, I can put either body on this rig if I want. I just like the Typhon body best. I may turn this one into a Regular Stretched Kraton with 8S power and upgrade to boutique parts. Id like to try carbon fiber parts since im not bashing hard with it.

Then put the 1515-2200KV in the stretched Typhon I already have and buy a Limitless Roller. Ive never had one. And I love Race Cars!

This is why I want a 8S Kraton.
20 HP 800KV
Damn this Hobby!

I can't find this TP Motor in stock.
One but they wanted $270 for it. It should be $190. fiddlestickers.
Not sensored.

TP 4070-CM (6S-8S)
2200 KV
up to 8S Lipo
40.0 mm dial can, with 5mm X 18mm shaft, sealed.
75,000 rpm max peek
https://www.tppowerusa.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=402

Crowed Favorite for 6S Kratons and Talons seems to be this.
But some of you guys are saying this will be disappointing?

Castle 1515 V2 Sensored
2200 KV
3-6S Lipo
41.4 mm dial can, 5mm shaft x 20mm
60,000 rpm max

Still on the table are these but they are Big and have lots of torque.
If I go this route I'll need to Buy more pinions and Spurs, more Lipos and I think it will be over powered for its weight.

Castle 1717 Sensored
1650 KV
3-8S Lipo
46 mm dial can, 5mm shaft x 20mm
56,000 rpm max

Castle 1520 Sensored
1650 KV
3-8S Lipo
41.6 mm dial can, 5mm shaft x 20mm
60,000 rpm max

I went with the mmx8s and tp4070 2250kv motor on my stretched talion (y)

The castle 1520 is smaller than the TP 4070.

I see this one come up TP Power TP4070 2250KV $180ish
6S? I see it listed as 5S and 6S...
How does it feel in the Talion??

Why aren't TPs sensored?

That TP 4070-CM 2200 KV is just not available with a 5mm shaft I can find, it's rated for 8S.
But I can't get 8S in my Kraton/Talion/Mojave rig easily. Not without buying (4) 4S 5000's and I like my 8000 6S's, they run long and strong.
Just really sold on the MMX8S, especially for 6S usage.

Arrma says the 8S Kraton is about 24 lbs stock (No Battery!), 7 lbs of that is tire! Then what, another 4-5 lbs of batteries? Crazy. They Need 8S and 800-1250KV motors. Why is it so heavy?!

My Hoovo 6S 8000mAh's are 1000g each (2.2lbs)
My rig is 15 lbs with a big battery and big tires.

The Typhon body is only 80g (mine is 105g with reinforcement added)
I remember weighing all the Kraton and Mojave bracing needed for the body and then the weight of those bodies, it added up to over a 1lb more or so.
Not much else to loose weight from.

TP makes sensored motors. They cost a lot more - similar to Castle pricing. Search eBay for some examples or you can custom order.

Yes the MMX8S is fantastic.

The Kraton 8S 24 pounds weight does not include batteries.

The castle 1520 is smaller than the TP 4070.

The TP Power TP4070 2250KV has a 39.6mm can.
The TP 4070-CM 2200KV has a 40.0mm can.
The 1520 has a 41.6 mm can.

Here is my Problem with that.
Try finding a Sensored TP motor that doesn't ship From China. Like this one, and I can't have it till August?
And at the size one would want.
Can't even find them on TP's website.

Why? It's Obvious that TP could give a Rats-Hole about Sensored motors.

F' EBay and AliExpress. I don't trust them. Just reading how the number of Counterfeit parts in the RC industry are extreme on EBay and Ali.
Lots and Lots of convincing Chinese knockoff counterfeit products, made by children making $10 a day. I digress.

WHY Sensored? Seem most of you guys with TP motors are not Sensored. Just want to know why either way.

They’re all ~40mm diameter cans. The Castle just has cooling fins.

But look at the lengths.

Non-sensored is cheaper and more accessible. That’s why.

I bought this one and had it in like 3 days. I also use it in a few udr's just fine everything on 6s. One udr has a max5 and the other a mmx8s like my stretched talion

That is the official tp distributor on ebay and he is on aliexpress. Nothing to not trust. My last custom tp motor took about 3 weeks to get here from china using the official us tp website.

Man I don't think I've ever seen anyone over think a motor this much lol.

Talion with mmx8s + TP 4070 2080kv

Also, a lot of TP motors feel smooth as hell. Some of them almost feel sensored without being sensored. My tp 4070 1700kv feels so smooth if someone told me it was sensored I'd believe them.
