Hello need some help understanding if this is a defect or am I missing some settings. Newbie to the rc car world.

Not 100% surprised myself ..... I would open the RX box first and check that the Steering servo is in fact plugged into channel 1 on the Receiver. Manual in hand.
Need to start wrenching unfortunately. Getting familiar with wrenching. A crucial part of this hobby anyway. It's all becomes muscle memory eventually. Sorry about that. It sucks.
Being new to this and all.
You will sort it out for sure. I know you will.
It's brand new, so you have the 2 year Arrma warranty to back you, if something is in fact defective there.
I would invest in a set of hand Hex drivers, "L" wrenches are not all that. If you will be using them.
MIP hand hex drivers are the best and most costly, but even some cheaper AMZ sets of them in the metric sizes you need are cost effective and fine enough for a beginner.
