Got Red 120" U Shape Rubber Seal Car Door Edge Guard Molding Trim Protectors Strip around the cut body or you can use just on the fenders. I used it all the way around it acts as added protection from hard landings as well.

Looks like pinch weld molding. Good idea. Another idea is 1/8" rubber vacuum hose, sliced lengthwise, and super glued on.

I would use Hot Glue myself.
