Hi guys,

Anyone know the spec of the Vorteks 3S BLX Shocks red O-Rings that are used to close the oil compartment.

I have accidentally damaged one when closing the parts after topping with oil.
It leaked.

They are parts of this package parts

But I was wondering if there is a way to get only the Oring (the red ones used to close the oil compartment).

I am looking for the spec/dimensions.

Thanks!

You would probably pay the same if sourced separately. Just buy the Arrma part that you showed. The O-rings are made of Silicone, NOT Rubber FWIW. Rubber o-rings won't work well with shock silicone Oil. They will bind up and will not feel plush. Measure the o-ring you have there if you need the measurements. Hard to source an exact fit IMHO. McMaster-Carr is one place to check however. But been there done that. Usually end up leaking. Been there. Stay with the stockers. They are not expensive at all anyway. Use All the new parts not just the O-rings. What I would do.
$6.00 is not tragic.. Is it???;)

I agree it’s just there is no stock at the local hobby store and the guy does not know so if I could get some generic ones it would be faster. But I agree with your points.

I did not know the scilicon vs rubber, thanks you for the details explaination!

Yeah I thought I would point out the differnce between rubber and silicone o-rings. I made that mistake also. Trying to source hard to find o-rings for my Crappy Proline Scaler shocks that always leaked. Even Proline admitted they had an O-ring size issue. They leaked out from day one just sitting on my shelf. Never buy any Proline shocks whatever you do. They are a wheel and body company. What they do best. Their very expensive fancy bling looking Shocks suck Big time. Just some food for thought. Best to upgrade your Vorteks shocks to Arrma 6s shocks if you decide to.

The 6s shocks are not a direct upgrade for the Vorteks, you have to change the front shock tower to the Granite shock tower to get them to fit. The closest thing I have found that fits are Traxxas GTR shocks but the rears are 5mm too short.

Can somebody post links to front and rear shock upgrades for the Vorteks that will actally fit, please? I'm a newbie at working on RCs, but I want to improve my Vorteks as best I can.

I would if I could find anything. The closest thing I could find was the Traxxas GTR shocks from the Slash, XL on the front and XXL on the rear, but the rears are 5mm shorter than the stock ones.

Traxxas GTR Shocks.

Get VG Racing springs. https://www.vgracing.com/product/GTR_Springs.html

They list them at 83mm and 103mm but if you look at the description they are 87mm and 109mm center to center (same as stock). Thinking about getting these myself.
