That sucker gets so hot. It can literally light my cigarette.
It was such an inefficient waste of Battery power back then. Why RC running lasted for such a short duration. If you run flat out Full Thr. most of the time, it was more efficient, ( got the most actual running time) by-passing the Resistor altogether. At slower modulated throttling speeds, power was just bled off by the Mech Speedo resistor. Wasted energy. The battery was technically always being used at its fullest power, regardless of the speed desired while running.. Either the brushed Motor or the Resistor or both combined was drawing Full Amps from the battery at all times.
