Kraton Vitavon hubs question

Does the ring stay in the middle of the lock cap on the knuckle

First of all, those are steering blocks, not hubs. I don't own Vitavon steering blocks, but my other steering blocks have O rings that fit into a groove in the pillow ball adjusting nut (red in your pic) to hold them in place.

The V2 version has a groove for the O ring to set in. I would imagine the earlier version would as well.

Just screw it on in the ring is what goes inside the threads to keep them from moving, once you get them adjusted. Usually you go all the way tight then back out 90% give or take a little. You want them to turn but not wobble. I have these on an Outcast 8s and they have been flawless.
