If I remember correctly, it is to hold your balance lead cables/wire from the batteries. I would advise not to use it if the battery ever gets ejected then it will rip the balance lead off the battery.

I rather secure the leads with the straps that secure the batteries,

I just got a Kraton 6S and wondered the same thing. Figured it was for the balance leads. Thanks for the confirmation. Don't worry, even though it looks like it should disconnect easily, I won't be using it.

The Granite has a tab on the power module for the same thing. First trip to the skate park and the battery was ejected. LUCKILY, the tab broke off and not the balance lead. Now, I just tuck them under the straps.
