Chinese invents insect-like robots [that can be "deployable" from drones or Balloons] to spy on inspect pipes, search & rescue, put bugs in homes(maybe) etc.

Guess that's why we are producing a bunch of humanoid robots on our end..

All they need to do is to scale them up a bit and have them walking on walls and such..
They could be deadly.

Have a bunch of cockabots drop on your head when you storm a building/room.

Or fly them in on a drones/balloons and scatter them all over our ships..

It made me think of this classic. Written and directed by a young Michael Crichton. Loved it as a kid.
