Arrma RC's
  1. Kraton 6s
V5 Kraton 6s high speed pinion and tall grass. Went mostly full throttle and several minutes in i stop/started and it cut out like motor was cogging. Left esc on for fan for 10 mins. Still does the same 2 days later. Motor just cogs and doesn't spin when trigger pulled fwd/rw but you can feel the motor heating up with just a few trigger pulls. ESC starts up normally and solid red when trigger pulled.

Do I just need a new motor?
Just a stock replacement Rocket?

Gonna upgrade esc fan and add 2 motor fans.

Yeah your motor is probably dead. Consider an MMX8S/1717 or Max6/4985 if you want tall gearing in grass.
Agreed. I’ve never run the CC setup, but my HW needed fans to run a 21t pinion in a heavy Mojave. I have fans on my HW powered Typhons as well, but they run much cooler.

You might want to check the motor connectors first. If a solder is weak it might just have desoldered itself rather than destroyed the motor

Any excuse you can have to upgrade to either of these combo's, go for it ;)

Just looking to replace the broken stock motor and still use the stock esc. Probably put the stock pinion back in as top speed for neighborhoods is too fast anyways.
Jenny’s RC is usually the best price.

Check JennysRC.com

They have stock motors for cheap.

Check those connectors. I had my stock motor connectors come loose, i had to resolder the plugs.

Note - before i noticed this. The loose connections might have been the culprit of killing my stoxk esc.

Never heard of this before, but it was my fix.

I run stock electronics, 15t pinion, in all types of terrain. Def gets hot. Probably too hot if the solder is making my motor connections loose. (Still running original motor… 2+ years old. But did kill my stock esc) it sounds like cogging when the connections were getting loose by the way. Hope that helps
