Hey all just thought I’d share something I’ve been doing to my rigs to tighten up the steering slop in the 3s and 4s rigs

Most of the slop I’ve found is in the steering link so I made these and almost all of the slop is gone. I cut 4mm off the Traxxas links and cut a M3 bolt to 14mm, screw them both on to get 22.5mm center to center of the sloppy Arrma link. Grind the shoulder off the steel pillow balls and it’s good to go!

I just place Teflon tape into the ends then pop the balls back in. Hard to really address most all of the slop. The ball ends are the best place to start, however it is done and works for you. (y)

How long does that last?

I'm actually looking for another possible replacement for this part. I agree this part is one of the most effective at reducing steering slop. Right now I'm using the link from the Hot Racing servo saver, it's lasted 2 years, but now the rubber gasket is giving up.:

I'm curious also. Because if it has to be replaced, it's really not worth it, you have to buy these two part sets to replace the stock servo link

I may look into this Traxxas part. For the pivot balls, I would think the Hot Racing aluminum pivot balls would work so you could avoid having to modify the Traxxas ones.
