Thought I might as well start a thread on the bash spots I’ve found on the Gold Coast for anyone that lives in the region or may visit..

I work for the Gold Coast city council and my job involves overseeing the construction of parks and playgrounds etc.. some of them have bmx track and skate bowls/ramps.

I will progressively add to this thread as I find the time to do so and as I discover new spots. Hope someone finds some use out of it and I’m happy for others to add any Gold Coast spots I miss... gonna try include some photos of each too..

Enjoy..
First spot is in Upper Coomera... BMX Track... address is

Western end of Wimmera Crescent, Upper Coomera QLD 4209, Australia.

I did the compliance on this track.. we also have a pro BMX rider that helps design these..

Pretty tidy little track with some nice jumps and nothing solid on the edge of the track to run into if you lose control.

Look out for Eastern Brown snakes though.. for our American friends these are a very common snake over here and they are often kranky and just a little bit venomous!

Nice! I need to save this thread for the next time I’m down the Goldie. I did stumble across the track at Beenleigh a few months ago and wouldn’t mind going there with the RC’s. I options are two small tracks, one at Redland Bay and the other at Victoria Point....just in case there there is anyone in the area

I’m happy that you replied because this next spot I found the other day and is just up the road from where I think you said you stayed on the coast the other week.

This one has some random freestyle BMX jumps that have huge launch potential... it also has a skate bowl etc and as you can see in the aerial it also has a massive bitumen track/circuit with some very long straights that I think is for bicycle riders.. it’s definately not for cars I know that much.. but it’s surounded by grass and has no obstacles on its edges so it would probably be great for speed runs if you picked a day when very few people were around.. which would be most working weekday’s.

It’s at Runaway Bay on Oxley drive.. so about 2 minute drive from the treasure island holiday resort I think you said you stayed Lazy Bushman...

The freestyle jumps look a little bit steep for my liking... I will try get some more photos closer to the jumps next time I go past there..

Next up is a bmx track in Burleigh heads.. Deodar pk on burleigh street.

This one is about 2 minutes drive from my place so I’ve been here a few times now... it’s a pretty good little track with jumps of all sizes. Has a big grass area too so you can take it for a final run shake the dust off the truck after hitting the track.

Very nice spot
It’s defintely a good little spot and most of the time, when I go there anyways, you have the place to yourself.

This next one is great too... it in Parkwood... Abbott Park at 12 Woodlands Way, Parkwood, QLD 4214

it’s a freestyle BMX track with some pretty crazy jumps... some of the jumps remind me of the ones you see in that Rich Duberbash lad’s bash spot where the jump has the middle cut out of it..

A lot of potential for big air and backflips... and a lot of potential for some heavy landings!... also has a few nice big thick gum trees that could cause carnage if you run off the line of the track.

The next spot is the Elanora Skatepark... at the end of Pines lane, Elanora.

It has a few pretty unkempt BMX jumps that the council need to put some work into.... better than nothing though..

What it does also have though is a massive skate bowl that is 12ft deep in places and has a full pipe!... reacon an arrma rc could get enough speed up to pull it off???..

Next up

Reserve Rd Upper Coomera

The photos I got really don’t make this spot look that great but the jumps are actually a lot bigger than they look.. plus it has jumps of all sizes..

Got an enormous half pipe too!

Clearly i’m Going to have to get prepared and plan to come down to the Goldie for the weekend.....I think this is my own private thread you created for me🤣.

It will be some time before I get down there again due to kids sport on the weekend but when I do I will ping you in advance and maybe we can bash together somewhere👍

Yeah, you will have to head on down again.. but you’re right... it gets hard to find the time especially with kids to deal with. My best option is on my fortnightly RDO every second Friday.. try and get out with my lads on the weekends too but there always a lot going on.

I’m still only bashing with the old Raider Mega that I’ve converted to brushless and run on 2S.. still getting air and having fun but nothing really serious yet and it’s starting to take a hammering, something breaks nearly every time it goes out now..
I’m waiting for the new V4 Kraton to arrive on our shores, I’ve got the cash sitting there waiting for the day it shows up in stock at one of the online Aussie stores. There is bugger all LHS’s on the Gold Coast.. only two and both stock nothing but traxxas. One of them that’s at Molendinar has an indoor track.

Let us know if your heading down and if I can make it I will.

This next track i’ve got to add to the list is the closest one to Brisbane I’ve found on the Gold Coast...

It’s at Ormeau right next to the M1... Pascoe Rd Ormeau..

Has a big skate park and BMX track with some half decent jumps to launch off. Few trees to provide shade and to help stop your RC if you misjudge a jump!....

I got my 3S Typhon through Crazy Hobbies eBay shop. All the rest from Mild to Wild in BNE. At the moment you can get an additional 10% off and they provide free shipping.

You could get the V3 kraton and just the couple of upgrade parts from Jenny’s you might want from the V4....plus you will get the Tactic transmitter opposed to the Specktrum. The 6S Typhon is super tough as is the Talion, but if you want a Kraton you could save some coin and get much the same vehicle with the V3 plus you can put the saving to parts, charger and batteries

Yeah, the crazy hobbies shop seems to have the cheapest deals and free shipping..

Heart’s set on the V4 Kraton... I’m gonna run it on 4S (2x 2s) for a while so i’ve got a good enough charger for the time being.. I am gonna can the spectrum straight up and buy an aftermarket model instead.. how much do Jenny’s charge to ship to Australia?.. i’ve Bought a few parts for my raider from Amain in the US and the shipping is US$1.90.. sometimes I’ve found that even with the exchange rate I can get parts cheaper and shipped cheaper from the US than I can going through an Aussie based store...

Anyway, next up is the sleepy little fishing village of Jacobs Well... I love this little coastal village, it’s in the middle of the two sprawling cities of Brisbane and the Gold Coast yet, when you drive into it through the cane fields that surround it, it feels like your hundreds of kilometres away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Risenweber park behind the Vet surgery on Pimpama-Jacobs Well Rd..

What’s on offer here for a bash?

A skate ramp and some basic BMX jumps... nothing spectacular but still, better than a poke in the eye with a blunt stick. Bring your Arrma on your weekend getaway!..

if you have the 2s batteries then fair enough, otherwise buy 2x3s. You can always tone down the Kraton to run a little more mildly if you want to build up to 6s. $s is good, 6s is better. Getting 6s straight away will save you money in the long run

Ive definately thought about going the 2x3S..
Problem is that my charger is only a Skyrc d100 V2... which is a great little charger but, im led to believe, would struggle with charging 2x3s batteries at a time..

It will do 2x2s.

Yeah it probably will as I presume it splits the watts evenly across the 2 channels. I have the D400 Duo from SkyRc and I can put up to 75% of the watts to channel 1 and remained to channel 2. I don’t think you can do the same with the D100. You should still be able to charge the 3s though but it will take a while.

Sounds like time for a new charger. I bought mine from Banggood. Sounds like a charger upgrade in the very near future for you....I have a IMAX B6 charger I could lend you but it is only 60w

Yeah.. i can split the watts to give one channel 75% and the other 25% but then id only be able to charge one battery at a time thus doubling the time to charge both batteries so it would probably be the same if i left it at 50% each channel and charged both at the same time just slower!.

Anyway... you’re probably right.. might be time for a new charger.. you happy with the D400?... i take it that it is 2x 200w which is more than enough power to charge even two 6s batteries at a time..

Probably be able to sell the charger ive got on gumtree..

Yep happy with the D400. Strange question though, you don’t happen to drive a Golf R do you? On my way down to Burleigh Heads this morning one went past me with a personalised plate similar to your forum name
