I prefer AA sized warmers. They fit in your pocket better and a 2100mah NiMH will last you all day on a charge.

This one comes with 3 hot glow plugs, no idea of the quality of plugs, but not bad for a warmer and glowplugs:

Can use a charger like this with any NiMH AA cells:
https://www.amazon.com/Hobbypark-Glow-Igniter-Charger-Driver/dp/B01EIG0EVQ

Or get some AA cells with a charger:
https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-K-KJ17KHCA4A-Individual-eneloop-Rechargeable/dp/B00JHKSL1O

FWIW, glow plug temp is relevant to the nitro % your running and compression ratio, not ambient temps. The temp of the plug adjusts the timing of combustion. Hotter fires earlier, colder fires later. For many RTR engines on 20%, a medium to hot plug works fine. With 25% nitro, medium is better. With 30% use a cold plug.

Okay, thanks! I have 2 quarts of 20% nitro.

Hi

Also make sure the neck of the glow starter is long enough, if its too short you many not be able to get your finger in-between the head and the glow starter to get it back off. I made that mistake once.

I just recently bought a HPI Savage XL 1/8 monster truck, but I need a glow plug igniter and a charger. They are discontinued, and I can't find the charger anywhere. All the glow plugs I have looked at are supposedly junk. Any recommendations?

Charger Part #: HB70452 https://www.hpiracing.com/en/part/hb70452
Glow Plug Igniter Part #: HB74105 https://www.hpiracing.com/en/part/74105
I need a charger to but bmnot this one. I need the one that actually charges the truck it self

I got so fed up with glow ignitors, I ended up using a starter panel. Think it was for airplanes. Hooks up to a battery in a starter box or something and the lead comes out to ignite the glow plug. Always has enough juice.

Make sure you motor/carb doesn't have any air leaks
