Im gonna call this the K8 2.0 because its had a couple different transformations since ive originally bought this truck... Ive owned it 2 times. Started out as a bone stock exb, Max 5 1100KV 28/47 .. unprogrammed, no fans, it got hot and felt slow. I Ran it once and didnt like how big and slow and not knowing much, i was not happy so i sold it to a close friend, he never ran it or put money into it to make it better, after seeing it on his wall for months and regretting to sell it i bought it back and thought id mess with it some more and try to figure it out. Bought a program card and some better lipos added some fans, and tried a 30t pinion on punch 5 and it felt better stayed cooler but still wasnt happy so.... i sold my max5 1100KV to my buddy and got the max5 800kv system.. I installed a 36t pinion with a 39 spur gear added some baja 5t madmax giant grip tires with studs (im setting it up for ice and snow). now i don't know alot about these trucks much really to the point of gearing or motor sizes, but from doing my research i have found people to go with the 8ookv for better power and speed. and thennnnn they came out with the g2 lol so what is going on now??? i see people running 12s in these but is it really that strong? can the diffs really handle that or should i stay away? im lost now and need help... is the 800kv really that big of a difference in power over the 1100KV?

800KV or 1100KV - basically the question is how you gear them. If you gear them to the same top speed using same punch you will not really feel a difference. That means the wattage is pretty much the same then. The difference people feel is mostly due to changing to more aggressive gearing and the other motor and then the faster car just seems so much more powerful. And big motors just have insane torque. The limit with the K8 is wheels. There is just so much that they can handle. That's a real and very irritating limit. Thick center oil + silicon earplus protect the front wheels. But wheels balooning to pizza shape just don't last too long....

thats why i kinda went with the madmax giant grips. they are stiff but theyre a lil heavier then the stock tires. finding a good tire combo is not easy for these. but i see alot of people running the proline badlands
