So first time going to try and paint and fit a new body for my Granite 3s BLX. Not a Ford guy but this 51 panel truck looks bada$$!! After some major body mount changes/fabrication I think I can get it to work...
Any input or help for painting would be greatly appreciated! How to properly prep before spraying, do I put down clear first then color? Again all the input I can get I'd greatly appreciate guys! Going to go with a almost seafoam blue color but also got some clear with gold sparkle want to put down before blue.
Again I appreciate any input guys, and also if there is super extended body mounts for the Granite please drop a link or leave info as not too confident in what I came up with will hold long... I used my Granite mounts and drilled them to take the extended K6s posts.

don't need clear, just wash with soap/degrease.
put on window masks/design masking
use preferably paint for lexan (tamiya makes amazing paint)
sparkles first, then color (several powdery coats), then white to make it pop
i also suggest shoegoo and drywall tape to protect the inside

oh, and drill your holes for the posts before painting.
Take your time and don't rush it.
It will look sick.

fyi
You can measure the body posts and buy generic body post extenders

The ones in the pic I made. I drilled holes where the top like button sticks up through the body on the stock Granite posts. Drilled holes in side for screw to hold extended K6s posts put in the holes I drilled. Not sure how well it will hold up but was worth a shot? have to see when body is all done and ready.

That's a great idea, I want to mount a van body on mine. Thanks!!

Well as I've said before if I don't absolutely have to be patient I'm not a very patient person.... That said with rushing things a bit I'm very pleased with the outcome ?. Have to get some pictures with it in the sun as color is a bit more green than in the photos. But here it is guys will be putting more decals on but for tonight I'm done gotta get up in 4hrs?
