How do you put the retainer clip in? The old one broke got the new one, but can’t figure out how to push it in.

It was just a lose grub screw.Looks like you can fix it without a full replacement.
without taking it apart, it looks like the ring gear broke. I would take it apart and see if there is any other damage
The diff cup looks like it’s broken..It was just a lose grub screw.

Agreed lol, the picture is taken weird lol. I had to double take. The diff cup has a metal piece built into it that holds the bearing. Its clearly broken completely off.The diff cup looks like it’s broken..

At first glance it looked like the ring gear, but it’s clearly the opposite side
Just a small dab of hand sanitizer on the plug.push it with your thumb. HAND SANITIZER ......lol that's how most of mine have been for a long time, Some I just do that immediately because I know it'll happen eventually. I don't buy new ones anymore. Just run them like this

You will just need a new diff cup. But for sure there is no fixing it.
