Is that sound on acceleration ok haven’t run this rig for awhile and can’t tell 2000 motor, stock esc and stock spur/ 14 pinion

Maybe mesh is cunt hair loose

Sounds about right. A little rough but that could be anything like bad bearings, or like you said, a slightly loose mesh.

Have you replaced the spur gear by the way? Sometimes they’re a little out of round and quiet down when they break in.

No spur gear is original, stock oil weight in all diffs and I mostly bash
Diffs are all shimmed
