So far my testing with the 4070svm showed more power compared to the cm version

Yea that 2900kv 4070 seems sexy. I really love my low kv motors but something about the sound of those higher kv tp motors just turns me on

Heck I am scared of running 2250kv just on 6s.
That's my limit.
I wonder how Heat is addressed with a 2580kv on 8s???? Those poor armatures. Feel bad for them.

I've got four 8S capable motors in my lineup. TP 1440KV, Castle 1650KV, TP 2022KV and Castle 2400KV...and they all frighten me a little bit at the thought of 8S. Next season is gonna get real. But first up...stretching my 4S legs. All in good time, as they say.

Which rig was it?
Heavy rigs will pose a problem with High KV motors on 8s.
If TP found the magic formula. Great.
I could see using 2580 for Drag running.

It was actually a typhon GT so not that heavy at all.

Gearing is critical with these motors. I’ve run 3100-3200kv on 6-7s without issues,
2200-2400 on 8s. Everything just needs to be geared correctly or else your motor is toast.
I’ve done some 60,000 rpm pulls with the 4070svm and 4080svm now on 8s and the motor comes back 120-130 degrees,
