I upgraded my brushed 550 Senton Mega to Spectrum Firma 3300kv motor with 3s lipo. This has 3mm motor shaft. Thinking of upgrading the slipper clutch/spur gear? If so, what pinion gear is needed?

Well since you bought that motor you will have to stick to 1/8 or 3.175mm pinions, no need to change the spur or slipper really, you could add the motor plate for good measure, plus they are cool 😎

Thanks! The Mega comes w 17t 48dp pinion. Spur is 91t. Would you recommend any other pinions sizes?
Hello and welcome to the forum.

If you upgraded from the brushed Senton to a 3s system the stock pinion is 20T. For the slipper clutch you can buy the full replacement from Jennysrc.com

Appreciate the info. Unfortunately the stock pinion is a 5mm, and the motor I purchased has a 1/8th inch shaft.

As far as the slipper and spur gear, since you have that motor just leave it, add the motor plate and get some 1/8 pinions, I'd start with the 16-18 tooth.. see what motor temps and performance does, might be ok with a 20t

Stock blx 3s carry a 100a esc and usually the 3200 kv motor, ur a tier below that so just depends on what your looking for!? 😎

I apologize, I should have been more specific. The stock pinion on the Senton 3s blx 3200kv motor is a 20t count. Below are the 1/8 bore (3.175mm) mod 0.8 pinions that will work with the mod 0.8 slipper clutch I posted.

Alternatively you can leave it alone as Senton pointed out the 17t 48dp stock pinion will still work with that motor.
