is there any wheel hex upgrade my wheel hex assembly just went flying. I was driving the car for the first time in a few months and the wheel fell off and the hex went flying

No upgrade needed. Just tighten it a bit next time.

RamJam RC has a really good looking titanium wheel hex if you want some bling.

would that be better or not worth it.
I asked horizon hobby customer support and asked for a replacement and the person just said he would need to see photos and would not give me a link to a part
any other ideas. maybe one with a grub screw.

I’d go on Jenny’s RC website and order some replacements

One car I bought used, the guy used loctite on the wheel hexes. It was a pain to get off but I guess he never had an issue with it coming loose.
