They're not ceramic but still far better than the crap what was in there.

I have a few that’ll be getting this treatment in the next few months.. gonna feel good to freshen them up. Will be thinning the heard a bit as well. Getting quite large 😂🤣

Looking good man, can’t wait to see how it looks all freshened up

My V3 Kraton is waiting for a rebuild too. I've started collecting parts but it still needs a new chassis.

I find it so satisfying to do bearings. It’s a sickness! I put them in a jar of kerosene and drop em into my ultrasonic cleaner.

Looks like more top notch builds in the classifieds soon.🤣

Choosing/collecting parts is a process I love executed with military precision.🤣

I re-use and re-use and re-use bearings. I do the same with a jar but no ultrasonic cleaner. Just blast them with the airline and regrease. These are new though. They were bone dry but new all the same. 👍

Little update.
Post is sooooooooo slow atm. I always clearance drill my braces in case I shear a pin. Longer pins have been delivered so that's another job done.

Shims, carbide pins and m2c outdrives are here too. Can now have a diff building session. 😍

Getting a little bit more done today. Messed about with shims for all 3. Wanted them all open. Squeezed an extra shim under the carbide pins on both sides. New bearings, pre greased. M2c outdrives on all. Tekjo gaskets F&R. Shims stacks all around 1.8mm including the two round plates (sun gear tab support as per @HZRDOS recommendation.

Only put 1 each side on the centre and made up the difference with shims as I didn't have anymore round plates. No play whatsoever in any outdrives. Sun gear perfectly flush at top of pin.

As we all know the exb standoffs are garbage. I've been drilling and tapping rtr standoffs to accept an m4 12.9 cap head for a while now with good results. The fact I have a bag of them and they're next to nothing compared to the aftermarket ones makes it worthwhile for me.

Diffs built and towers bolted up.

Finally started to get somewhere with the chassis. Scorched ackerman with Flanged bb's. Squeezed a circlip in. Steering butter smooth. Shortened servo lead too.

What are you using to balance your tires?

So are you cutting off the threads on both sides where I have the lines in my picture and then through drilling for the cap head screw?

These are the rtr standoffs not the exb ones. The rtr ones have a hole straight through for an m3 bolt. I just drill and tap it for an m4 bolt to beef it up a bit.

Got loads more done on it now since my parcel turned up. Still need to set the droop and turnbuckles but coming along nicely.
