Hey Everyone, this is my 12S Kraton Build… Lot’s of mods here including a Promodeler DS2685BLHV servo (2,685oz-in Torque)! Yes, it fits! If anyone out there has any questions about this build, feel free to post a comment in this thread! It started as a tank build and transitioned it’s way into a speed build… so I dropped the Aluminum bulkheads, kept the aluminum center tranny, and the aluminum diff cups, lowered the suspension (not just adjusting the spring pre-load as that is not really a suspension adjustment). Started with Masher-X, transitioned to Badlands and now with Foams from Gone Bananas Racing Skinz. Started with a leopard 58113, now using a TP5860 on 12S Lipo packs. Started with 400A ESC, now, using a V16PRO ESC from R-Mamba. 84I pulled the center tower brace and the basher brace along with a slew of other parts that are just not necessary when doing a speed run… mostly for the weight savings… Still using a T2T brace up top, but I like that it is ONE piece, rather than two… this makes a difference. I am also using a center diff spool in place of diff internals. The 92mph run was just a quick test… this BAMF should bust 100mph easy after a few small changes…

Nice build. I have always been a little afraid of Flier r-snake ESCs (I have seen many catch fire). You will have to keep us posted on how it goes as you push into the triple digits with that one.

These big heavy 1/5 scale rigs running that fast is a sight to see! I took an XMaxx 8s to 72.5 mph and it was moving pretty fast.

The V16 Pro is best suited for lower kv with a heavy 1/5 on 16S. It can push a higher kv but not ideal. It doesn’t like it. I also tried MGM X3 40035 ESC and same thing. So far the best pairing has been a dual motor set up using mmx8S with dual leopard 58113-1300kv motors and conservative gearing. It has the mid-high range torque needed to continue accelerating beyond that 90mph range that these cars are usually limited.

Also tried an extended chassis K8S EXB build with a SSS 56135 motor using flier 400A. The throttle response is decent and it has lots of potential for a single motor build. It’s an 18kW motor though, so the current draw is massive.
