Arrma Raiphon

A few years ago I started a project.

I'm a big fan of the Raider blx xl, and dune buggy's in generally. So it was hard to hear that arrma the raider discontinued.
So Arrma won't build a dune buggy anymore, than I build it myself.

But a small year ago I became to a model... that I thought,yes finally this is what looks good.

I will introduce you The Raiphon...!

So I stripped my typhon v2, and the roll cage is from the raider xl, and can flip open.
The Raiphon is running 2 x 2S.
You can use 2 x 3S, but they're wider.
I prefer the looks than performance.
This is more a prototype.
They're are a lot off details that I have to improve.
It's more a never ending project...

That is amazing customization. It looks to be built like a tank as well. Nice work.

The Raiphon has a new upgrade.
He has a lipo tray now, and the choice vor the shorty's are in mine opinion way better looks than the normal 2S size.
I put a 1600kv motor in but I think not the smartest choice at this moment, for driving on 4S
And the gpm rear shock tower bends likes crazy !

Thanks, it's not easy to create something that's looks good, but also strong and easy to use.

I really liked the Vaterra Glamis Uno and had a Baja Flux 8s, still regret it a little i sold it....

Your Raiphon looks great!

Looks great but I bet it's heavy as sh!t with all that metal caging on top of the chassis.

It's still in progress. I wanted a plastic top, but it's difficult to bent it properly.
I'll weight it later today, but I thought a slightly more than the stock typhon.
And it's for fun, not racing so weight isn't a issue

I have weight the Raiphon.
The Typhon weights 342kg
Raiphon weights 3557kg, so it's not a huge difference.
Even I thought a little more weight than that.

Imagine
No serious, and now I drive with shorty lipo's probably the same weight.
Now the problem around de lipo case is solved, and batteries are protected, he can be used safely

I love this project!
