Arrma RC's
  1. Kraton 6s
First, some planning:

Motor & ESC:
Keep stock components until not serviceable.
Failure will be an opportunity for improvement.

Receiver & Transmitter:
Primary goals are improved range and adjustable throttle endpoint.
Dumbo RC combo has been an effective and affordable solution.

The stock radio does offer some control for throttle limiting, but I prefer more adjustability.

Servo:
Plan for early failure of stock servo, but enjoy it while it lasts.
Savox SW1210SG-BE ready for duty.

Servo Mount:
Action is required here. Wow does the stock mount flex.
Will try M3x30mm screws before selecting an aluminum upgrade.

Servo Saver:
Action is required here. The stock servo saver configuration does not provide adequate steering authority.
Extra hard spring (used in EXB) + circlips / shims (In Progress)

Chassis Braces:
M2C front chassis brace (Completed)
M2C rear chassis brace
M2C rear shock tower brace

Shock Towers:
M2C rear shock tower (EXB/V5). Seems to be a common weak point.
Stock front shock tower - until failure

Chassis:
M2C

Differentials:
Open & inspect. Shim if necessary.
Replace gaskets with Tekjo
Run stock weight fluid.

Battery:
Currently running a 4S battery from another rig. Great way to get a feel for this new platform.
Planning to run a 6S battery, with punch turned down and perhaps some throttle limiting depending upon operating conditions.

I have installed the extra hard servo saver spring.
I have not noticed an improvement in steering behavior.

Note: My servo saver did not have thread lock, it came apart easily with a 13mm wrench.

I plan to use the snap rings everyone is using, for lack of a suitable washer. I dug around on McMaster but didn't find anything suitable.

I bought the JBI servo mount for use with the Savox 1210SG.

No joy - and only by a smidge!

I will reach out to JBI.

I’ve great luck with my GKA one-piece servo mount. Beautiful CNC and bomber stiff. No fitment issues on a variety of servos. The high torque 4521 from Hobbystar (RC juice.com) has been a little beast. $49 normal but sometimes on sale for $35. Whether 6v or 7.4v turns stock Copperheads with ease.

I’ve found the biggest issues on the Kraton steering is making sure the pillar ball screws/caps don’t become too loose or too tight. Can significantly impact steering performance.
