I know the the imput gear has to match with the right differential but can you have a 13t straight gear diff in the front and then a 10t spiral diff in the rear?

different teeth count arn't they
Yea I purchased a used notorious. Put a new 10t imput gear rear differential from Jenny’s and realized that my notorious has the 13t imput gear in the rear.

Swapped everything in the rear to 10t configuration. Now I’m going to have to do the same to front.

Well i opened up the front to find a 10t gear in the front.

So I’ve been running mix matched diffs for almost a year. 😩

Now I’ve got matching front and rear diffs.
Wonder how handling will be different now. Maybe temps will be better. I’ve always had temp problems with this truck.

Notorious uses 10t. The electronics and center diff took the abuse of the mismatch
A straight gear diff would be considerably weaker than spiral cut also.
