Castle Fans upgrades

I have the MMX8S and the MMX6S and I want to get some replacement/Upgrade fans. I wanted to get fans that had the same plug as the castle fans.
I figured there's a bunch of people that have done is already.

40mm fan is on my 8s esc with a jst extension plug to power from reciever
2 12v 40mm fans on my motor with 2 alza rc motor mount powered by a mini 3s lipo

I use the same 40mm aluminum frame fan as well. There are a bunch of them just rebranded. I like to cut off the stock fan plug and solder the female connector to it for whatever fan I'm using. That way I can keep new fan working same as old one. It only turns on when it reaches a certain temp.

Speaking of which, what IS the name of the castle fan connector and is there a place to get em??? I seem to have misplaced at least one of mine.

I tried to figure that out but gave up lol. I just cut the connector off every stock fan that breaks. If you find out, please post it here.

Will do, you do the same. I cut one off the fan side and have no clue where I put it, and don't wanna cut the ESC side off.

It’s easier to just solder a JST connector onto the ESC wire harness.
